Supported Applications
The Dwyer Series VAT Variable Area Fluoropolymer Flowmeter is designed for high purity or corrosive liquid applications. The series features a direct reading scale from 0 to 10 for flow indication and serves compatible liquids where fluoropolymer wetted materials are required.
Operating Conditions & Performance
The Series VAT operates with process temperatures up to 250°F (121°C) and a pressure limit of 100 psig (6.9 bar). Accuracy is specified as ±5% FS @ 70°F (21.1°C) at 14.7 psia (1 atm absolute). Each unit undergoes individual leak testing to achieve a leak integrity rating of 1 x 10⁻⁷ sccs Helium or better.
Configuration Options
The series offers two primary flow ranges with specific model configurations:
- Low Range Models (VAT-3xx): Flow rates range from 1.98 GPH (125 mL/min) to 79.23 GPH (5000 mL/min). These models utilize 1/4" female NPT or 3/8" female NPT process connections.
- High Range Models (VAT-6xxx): Flow rates range from 3.43 GPM (13 L/min) to 11.89 GPM (45 L/min). These models utilize 1/2" female NPT or 3/4" female NPT process connections.

The series is available in configurations with or without a valve. Models are designated by the format VAT-, such as VAT-311 (with valve) versus VAT-301 (without valve). An optional NIST traceable calibration certificate for variable water flowmeters is available under order code NISTCAL-FL2.
Key Product Differences
Variants within the Series VAT differ by connection size, flow range capability, and the inclusion of a valve. Low-range models (VAT-301 through VAT-319) cover flows up to 79.23 GPH with connections ranging from 1/4" to 3/8" female NPT. High-range models (VAT-6010 through VAT-6114) cover flows up to 11.89 GPM with connections of 1/2" or 3/4" female NPT.
Overall dimensions vary by connection size: units with 1/4" and 3/8" connections measure 5-11/16" [144] in length (A) and 1-1/4" [31.8] in width (B). Units with 1/2" and 3/4" connections measure 10-1/2" [267] in length (A) and 2" [50.8] in width (B).
