Supported Applications

The Omega CH-OTS Series consists of portable tank immersion heaters designed for over-the-side mounting. These units feature copper sheath nickel-plated elements and integral control with a manual reset cutout, intended to heat liquids within the specified process temperature range.

Operating Conditions & Performance

The CH-OTS Series operates at 16 to 121°C (60 to 250°F) for the process medium. Power supply options are limited to single-phase operation at 208V or 240V. The series is available in two power ratings: 4 kW and 6 kW, with corresponding watt densities of 49 W/in² (for the 4 kW model) and 58 W/in² (for the 6 kW models). A manual reset cutout is set at 50°F above the temperature setpoint.

Configuration Options

The series offers specific configurations defined by power, voltage, and heated section length. Key physical attributes include:

• Housing: NEMA 1 Terminal Enclosure (5" height, 3½" width).
• Riser Length: A fixed unheated riser of 660 mm (26").
• Cord Set: #10 AWG Conductor Cord Set (polarized), 914 mm (36") long, terminating in a 10 to 30P Plug.
• Mounting: Includes an adjustable SS Mounting Bracket with a width of 3⅝".

Heated section lengths vary by model: the 4 kW unit features a DIM B length of 14 inches, while both 6 kW units feature a DIM B length of 17 inches. The heated section height is 2", and the bottom section height is 2".

Key Product Differences

The CH-OTS Series includes three distinct model numbers based on power output, voltage, and physical dimensions:

• CH-OTS-404/240V: 4 kW at 240V; DIM B (heated section) is 14 inches.
• CH-OTS-608/208V: 6 kW at 208V; DIM B (heated section) is 17 inches.
• CH-OTS-604/240V: 6 kW at 240V; DIM B (heated section) is 17 inches.

All models in the series weigh 10 lb and utilize copper sheath nickel-plated elements as wetted materials. The model number guide follows the format CH-OTS-<kW>/<Volts>, where kW represents power (4 or 6) and Volts indicates supply voltage.
