Supported Applications
The Omega FL-6100B Series consists of in-line variable area flow meters designed for high accuracy indication and control of water, oil, or air. These units provide the ability to either control flow rate or alarm on high or low flow rates via an integrated limit switch that can be triggered at any point along the flow range.
Operating Conditions & Performance
The series delivers ±2% Full Scale Accuracy and ±1% Repeatability. Maximum operating conditions are defined by media type: Water/Oil applications support up to 116°C (240°F) at 3500 psi, while Air applications support up to 116°C (240°F) at 1000 psi.
Available measurement ranges include:
- Oil (.876 Sp. Gr.): 0.1 to 30 GPM
- Water (1.0 Sp. Gr.): 0.2 to 30 GPM
- Air (at 100 psi): 3 to 250 SCFM
The enclosure is rated NEMA 12 (IP65) with splash-proof construction.
Configuration Options
The FL-6100B Series offers configurable process connections, wetted materials tailored to specific media, and optional limit switch configurations. Models are available in two primary connection sizes: ½ NPT or ¾ FNPT.
- Process Connections: ½ NPT (Dimensions: 102 x 72 x 168 mm / 4 x 2.82 x 6.6") and ¾ NPT (Dimensions: 83 x 184 x 182 mm / 3.3 x 7.3 x 7.2").
- Wetted Materials:
- Water Meters: C360 brass body, piston, and cone; T302 SS spring; ceramic magnet.
- Oil & Air Meters: 2024-T351 anodized aluminum body, piston, and cone; T302 SS spring; ceramic magnet.
- Electrical Output: Micro SPDT switch rated at 10A @ 250 Vac maximum or 0.5A @ 125 Vdc maximum, supplied with a 0.8 m (34") cable.
- Options: Add "-R2" to the part number for two limit switches; add "-NIST5" for an optional 5-point NIST certificate.
Key Product Differences
Variants within the series are distinguished by media compatibility, flow range, and connection size. The model numbering convention follows FL-<MODEL>, such as FL-6101B for oil or FL-7825B for water.
- Oil Models (e.g., FL-6101B to FL-7625B): Designed for Oil .876 Sp. Gr., utilizing 2024-T351 anodized aluminum wetted parts. Ranges span from 0.1 GPM up to 30 GPM.
- Water Models (e.g., FL-6318B, FL-7825B): Designed for Water 1.0 Sp. Gr., utilizing C360 brass wetted parts. Ranges span from 0.2 GPM up to 30 GPM.
- Air Models (e.g., FL-6720B, FL-7940B): Designed for Air at 100 psi, utilizing 2024-T351 anodized aluminum wetted parts. Ranges span from 3 SCFM up to 250 SCFM.
- Connection Size: Models with lower flow capacities typically utilize ½ NPT connections, while higher capacity models (e.g., FL-76xxB and above) often require ¾ FNPT connections.
