Supported Applications

The Omega LVN Series comprises vertical mounted, single-station liquid level switches designed for applications requiring broad chemical compatibility. These NEMA 6 (IP68) rated devices are sealed with potting compound to minimize the effects of shock, vacuum, or vibration, providing consistent accuracy and high repeatability in submerged environments.

Key application features include:

• User-selectable normally open or normally closed operation
• Vertical mounting at the top or bottom of a tank
• Suitable for submersion when terminated with NEMA 6 connectors

Operating Conditions & Performance

The series operates within a process temperature range of -40 to 82°C (-40 to 180°F) and supports a maximum pressure rating of 100 psi. The switches utilize an SPST mechanism with actuation occurring approximately half the distance from the end of the stem to the mounting point, or at the halfway point of float travel in liquid with a specific gravity of 1.0.

Electrical specifications include a switch rating of 50 VA across all models. The lead wires are specified as 20 AWG, 600 L (24 L), sealed to meet NEMA VI requirements when properly terminated.

Configuration Options

The LVN Series offers three distinct wetted material configurations to accommodate different chemical environments. Each model maintains the same electrical rating and pressure limit while varying in stem/float composition and specific gravity.

• Wetted Materials: CPVC, PVDF, or Polypropylene
• Mounting Options: Vertical installation via 1/8" NPT fitting at tank top or bottom
• Switch Configuration: SPST with selectable normally open/closed operation
• Termination: Designed for use with NEMA 6 (IP68) connectors to maintain submersion rating

Key Product Differences

The primary distinction between the LVN-60, LVN-61, and LVN-70 models lies in their stem and float materials. The CPVC version (LVN-60) offers a specific gravity of 0.72, while the PVDF model (LVN-61) provides higher density at 0.92. The Polypropylene variant (LVN-70) has the lowest specific gravity at 0.52.

All three models share identical maximum temperature limits of 82°C/180°F and pressure ratings of 100 psi, with a uniform switch rating of 50 VA. The series is supplied complete with an operator's manual.
