Supported Applications
The Omega RD45 single-channel and RD46 dual-channel flatbed recorders are designed for use in research, development, production, service, and education applications. These instruments feature an ergonomic shape that allows users to write comments on the chart next to the pen.
Operating Conditions & Performance
The series records voltage measurements ranging from 1 mV full scale to 20 Vdc, with specific ranges of 1, 2, 5, 10, 20, 50, 100, 200, and 500 mV, as well as 1, 2, 5, 10, and 20 Vdc. Accuracy is specified at 0.3% FS for both single and dual channel configurations. The response time is 0.2 sec for 5 to 95% full scale.
Chart speeds are available from 0.1 mm/min to 20 mm/sec (where 1 mm = 0.03937"). Standard features include an electric pen lift function that automatically lifts the pens if the chart has not advanced for 30 seconds, along with built-in HOME and GRID functions for comparative measurements and repetitive grid alignment.
Operating ambient temperature is -10 to 40°C (14 to 104°F) at a humidity of 35 to 85% RH, non-condensing. Storage temperature ranges from -40 to 75°C (-40 to 167°F). The units weigh 3.5 kg (7.7 lb).
Configuration Options
The series is offered in single-channel and dual-channel configurations with a wide, 200 mm (8") chart width. Power supply requirements are 110/220 Vac, switchable; -15/+20%; 50/60 Hz. Electrical connections utilize 2 safety terminals.
Available options and accessories include:
- RDX40-POC: Optional pen offset compensation module (eliminates record offset caused by the distance between two pens)
- TAC80J and TAC80K thermocouple converters
- JMTTS-125G-6 and KMTTS-125G-6 thermocouple probes
- RDX40-RP: 10 rolls of chart paper, 25 m (82') each
- Pens for channel-1: RDX40-RD1 (red), RDX40-BL (blue), RDX40-GR (green), RDX40-BK (black)

Each recorder ships with 1 pen per channel, one 25 m (82') roll of paper, power cord, fuse, input adaptor connectors, and a complete operator's manual. An OMEGACARE™ extended warranty program is available to extend the standard 1-year warranty.
Key Product Differences
The series includes two primary models:
- RD45A-EPL: Single-channel recorder with pen lift and remote control, 200 mm (8") chart width.
- RDX46A-EPL: Dual-channel recorder with pen lift and remote control, 200 mm (8") chart width.
The RD45 model is a single channel recorder, while the RD46 model provides dual channel capability. The RDX40-POC module serves as an optional add-on for pen offset compensation or serial output; one module is required in the RD46 for the POC feature, and one per channel is needed for RS-232 data transmission.
