Supported Applications

The Omega CL3515R is a rugged, portable digital calibrator thermometer designed for temperature calibration and measurement using external thermocouples. It supports K, J, T, E, R, S, N, L, U, B, and C type sensors as well as millivolt (mV) inputs. The instrument complies with the N.I.S.T. Monograph 175 Revised to ITS-90 standard.

Key functional capabilities include:

  • Dual thermocouple input for simultaneous measurement of two sensors
  • Adjustable T/C offset functionality
  • Thermocouple simulation output with 0.1° resolution and ±(0.3°C + 10uV) accuracy
  • mV signal generation ranging from -25.00mV to 75.00mV with 10uV resolution

Operating Conditions & Performance

The CL3515R operates within an ambient temperature range of 0°C to 50°C (32°F to 122°F) at less than 80% R.H. Storage is permitted from -20°C to 60°C (-4°F to 140°F) with humidity below 70% R.H.

Measurement ranges and accuracy vary by thermocouple type:

  • K-TYPE: -200°C to 1372°C or -328°F to 2501°F
  • J-TYPE: -210°C to 1200°C or -346°F to 2192°F
  • T-TYPE: -250°C to 400°C or -418°F to 752°F
  • E-TYPE: -250°C to 1000°C or -418°F to 1832°F
  • R/S-TYPE: 0°C to 1767°C or 32°F to 3212°F (Resolution: 1°)
  • N-TYPE: -200°C to 1300°C or -328°F to 2372°F
  • L/U-TYPE: -200°C to 900°C (L) and -200°C to 600°C (U)
  • B/C-TYPE: 600°C to 1820°C (B); 0°C to 2316°C or 32°F to 4200°F (C) (Resolution: 1°)

Accuracy specifications for K/J/T/E/L/U types are ±(0.05% rdg + 0.5°C) from -50°C to 1372°C, and ±(0.05% rdg + 1.0°C) below -50°C down to the minimum range limit. For R/S/B/C types, accuracy is ±(0.05% rdg + 2°C) from 0°C to 1767°C.

Electrical and Environmental Limits

  • Safety Warning: Do not use when working voltages at the measurement surface exceed 24V AC or DC.
  • Microwave Safety: Do not make temperature measurements in microwave ovens to avoid damage or burns.
  • Battery Life: Approximately 17.5 hours with a carbon zinc battery (Standard 9V, NEDA 1604 / IEC 6F22).

The CL3515R series is configured as a handheld unit accepting standard miniature thermocouple connectors with flat blades spaced 7.9mm center to center.
