Supported Applications

The OM-EL-USB-1-RCG is a rechargeable USB temperature data logger built into a 316 SS NEMA 4X (IP67) rated case with a polycarbonate window assembly, giving it corrosion, impact and water resistance. It measures and stores up to 32,510 readings over a -20 to 60°C (-4 to 140°F) range.

Because the logger recharges over USB rather than relying on a disposable cell, it is particularly well suited to repeated, reusable monitoring programs such as returnable cold-chain shipments, transport and warehouse surveys, and recurring environmental or process checks where the same unit is redeployed many times.

Operating Conditions & Performance

The logger operates over a -20 to 60°C (-4 to 140°F) range and carries a 316 SS NEMA 4X (IP67) rated case together with the CE mark. Status is shown by red and green LEDs, and high and low temperature alarm thresholds are selectable in software.

Power comes from a rechargeable lithium-ion battery (280 mAh) that recharges from an active USB port in 5 hours maximum. The charging temperature range is 10 to 30°C (50 to 86°F). Battery life runs from 1 week minimum at -20°C with a 1 sec logging interval up to 4 weeks maximum at 20°C with a 1 min logging interval.

Configuration Options

This series is built around a single model, the OM-EL-USB-1-RCG. Its distinguishing capability is the rechargeable lithium-ion battery (280 mAh), which removes the need to replace a disposable cell and makes the logger ideal for repeated redeployment.

The unit is configured through the supplied Windows software, which runs on Windows 2000/XP/Vista/7 and 8 (32-bit and 64-bit). Users can select °C or °F units, set the logging interval, define start date and time, and program high and low alarm thresholds. Recharging is handled directly over the USB interface, with a full charge reached in 5 hours maximum.
