Supported Applications

The Omega A-Series Ring Style Chrome Steel Strip Heaters are rugged, heavy-duty heating elements designed for flat surfaces. The series is engineered for applications including tank bottoms, glue and lead melting pots, dies, platens, valve flanges, incubators, hot plates, and vulcanizers.

Operating Conditions & Performance

The A-Series heaters feature a chrome steel sheath with refractory-insulated construction. The maximum sheath temperature is rated at 1200°F. Power supply options are available for 120 or 240V, covering a wattage range from 125 to 1800 watts.

Dimensional Envelope

The series offers various ring dimensions to accommodate different mounting requirements:

• Diameter (A): Ranges from 3 7/16" (10) to 10 3/16" (28).
• Width (B): Ranges from 1 1/16" (4) to 8 1/2" (22).
• Thickness (C): Standardized at 5/16" (8).

Electrical Configuration

Single-heat rings are equipped with two terminals. Three-heat ring configurations include three terminals, where the center terminal serves as common.

Configuration Options

The A-Series is configurable across multiple parameters to meet specific installation needs:

• Voltage Selection: Models are designated for 120 Vac or 240 Vac operation (e.g., suffix /120 or /240).
• Element Configuration: Available as single-heat elements or three-heat element configurations.
• Nesting Capability: Nesting rings are offered to pack heat in a small area; for example, models A-651, A-802, and A-903 provide 4050 watts within a 10 3/16" (28) circle.
• Mounting Accessories: Utility clamps (model number 6018 Clamp) are available for securing ring elements on flat surfaces using 5/16" (8 cm) flat-head machine screws. The clamp includes a hole for a 5/16" (0.8) Dia. Stud.
• Customization: Lower wattages down to 125 watts and smaller outside diameters are available upon contact with OMEGALUX.

The heaters carry the following approvals: U.L. Component Recognized, CSA Certified, CE, SR, UL, and VDE.

Key Product Differences

Variants within the A-Series are distinguished by their wattage output, physical dimensions (A/B/C), and electrical configuration:

• Single-Heat Models: Identified by model numbers such as A-203/* or A-504/*. These units feature two terminals.
• Three-Heat Models: Identified by model numbers containing a hyphenated segment (e.g., A-20-33/*, A-60-37/120). These units provide three-terminal connectivity with a common center terminal.

The "To Order" table defines specific combinations of wattage and dimensions. For instance, the 300-watt configuration (A-203/*) corresponds to dimension A: 3 7/16" (10), B: 1 1/16" (4), while the 1800-watt configuration (A-903/*) utilizes dimensions A: 10 3/16" (28), B: 8 1/2" (22).
