Supported Applications

The Omega CTXL Series is a portable, universal circular chart recorder designed for process measurement and control applications. The series supports multiple input configurations including temperature/humidity monitoring, dual thermocouple inputs (Types J, K, T, E, R, S, B, N), dual process voltage/current signals, pH & RTD measurements, and wireless temperature/humidity sensing via optional transmitters.

Operating Conditions & Performance

The CTXL Series operates within an ambient temperature range of -18 to 49°C (0 to 120°F) with a humidity rating of 2 to 98% RH. Storage conditions are specified as -20 to 60°C (-4 to 140°F). The unit features a rugged ABS enclosure and is powered by four D batteries or a universal AC adaptor.

Accuracy specifications vary by model configuration:

• CTXL-TRH (Temperature/Humidity): ±1.5°C (3°F) for temperature; ±3% RH at 15 to 90% RH, and ±5% RH below 15 or above 90% RH.
• CTXL-DTC (Dual Thermocouple): ±2°C (4°F) for Type K; ±1.5°C (3°F) for Types J and T.
• CTXL-DPR (Dual Process): ±1% FS display accuracy.

The recorder provides a large 200 mm (8") circular chart with dual channel LCD readout. Recording intervals are available in 1, 7, or 32 day formats depending on the selected chart paper.

Configuration Options

The series offers configurable options across input types, housing colors, and wireless capabilities. Models are designated by a model number guide: CTXL---.

• Housing Colors: White or Gray enclosures.
• Mounting Options: Designed for bench-top operation with a swiveling stabilizing arm, foot cover, and wall mounting kit availability.
• Sensor Connections: BNC connectors for sensors; mini DIN connector for PC interface (USB/RS-232). Universal thermocouple connectors compatible with standard (OST) and miniature (SMP) plugs are supported on dual thermocouple models.
• Outputs & Alarms: Dual high alarm relays, dual low alarm voltage outputs, chart paper recording, digital display, and PC interface for data download and real-time monitoring.

Wireless capability is available as an option (e.g., CTXL-TRH-W-W9) requiring a transmitter (CTXL-PT) and receiver (CTXL-PR). Wireless frequencies are specified as 'W9' for USA/Canada (915 MHz) or 'W8' for Europe (868 MHz).

Key Product Differences

The CTXL Series is differentiated by input type, which dictates the specific measurement ranges and accuracy:

• CTXL-TRH: Temperature/Humidity recorder with integrated or remote sensor probes. Supports wireless retrofitting.
• CTXL-DTC: Dual Input Thermocouple Recorder supporting Types J, K, T (and others per series overview) with ranges such as -100 to 1000°C (-148 to 1832°F) for Type K.
• CTXL-DPR: Dual Input Process Recorder accepting Voltage or Current inputs. Models are distinguished by input type (V for Voltage, I for Current).

All models support NIST-traceable calibration and RoHS 2 compliance. The series includes FCC Class A certification.
