Supported Applications

The Omega JMTSS series comprises Transition Junction Style Probes with High Temperature Molded Construction designed for temperature measurement. These probes feature a molded transition junction rated to 260°C (500°F) and are available in standard inch dimensions or metric millimeter configurations.

Operating Conditions & Performance

The series meets or exceeds Special Limits of Error (SLE) and EN 60584-2: Tolerance Class 1. The molded transition junction is rated to 260°C (500°F). Standard electrical connections include 40" PTFE-Coated Lead Wires.

Dimensions

  • Diameter: 0.040" to 0.125" (Standard) or 1.0 mm to 3.0 mm (Metric)
  • Overall Length: 6" or 12" (Standard) or 150 mm or 300 mm (Metric); other lengths available upon consultation with the Sales Department.

Configuration Options

The JMTSS series supports a broad configuration envelope across thermocouple types, sheath materials, junction styles, and dimensional standards. The housing utilizes environmentally friendly cadmium-free liquid crystal polymer.

  • Type E (CHROMEGA-Constantan)
  • Type J (Iron-Constantan)
  • Type K (CHROMEGA®-ALOMEGA®)
  • Type N (Available in Inconel N or High Performance XL material)
  • Type T (Copper-Constantan)

Sheath Materials

  • 304SS (Standard stainless steel)
  • 316SS (Order by changing "SS" in model number to "316SS")
  • Inconel® (Order by changing "SS" in model number to "IN")
  • Super OMEGACLAD® XL Sheath (Available for Type N, Inconel N, or K High Performance; order by changing "SS" to "XL")

Junction Types & Ordering Qualifiers

Select the junction type using the following suffixes in the model number:

  • E: Exposed
  • G: Grounded
  • U: Ungrounded

Key Product Differences

Variants differ by thermocouple type, sheath diameter, insertion length, and material composition. The model number guide follows the format JMTSS-- - . For example, KMTSS-125U-6 denotes a subminiature transition joint probe, Type K, 0.125" O.D. 304 stainless steel sheath, 6" length, ungrounded junction.

Metric variants follow the format KMTSS-M150G-150, indicating a subminiature transition joint probe, Type K, 1.5 mm O.D. stainless steel sheath, 150 mm length, grounded junction. The series also offers Super OMEGACLAD® XL Thermocouple Wire availability.
