Supported Applications

The Dwyer Series A-900 and A-901 are NEMA 4X weatherproof control enclosures designed for indoor or outdoor use. These housings protect installed controls from dirt, dust, oil, and water. The series accommodates 1/4 DIN panel-mounted instruments.

Operating Conditions & Performance

The enclosure rating is NEMA 4X (IP66). Constructed from UV stabilized fiberglass reinforced polyester, the units are rated for ambient temperatures up to 77°F (25°C), 104°F (40°C), or 131°F (55°C) depending on the internal control's heat generation. UL approval is listed.

When used with controls featuring 10 A relay outputs, maximum ambient temperature limits are reduced due to extra heat generation inside the enclosure. Specific current derating applies for models including 25XX3, 26XX3, 26X3X, 26X33, MPC, and MPCJR:

  • At 77°F (25°C): Maximum current is 10 amps.
  • At 104°F (40°C): Maximum current drops to 9 amps for the A-901; remains 10 amps for the A-900.
  • At 131°F (55°C): Maximum current is 7.5 amps for the A-900 and 6 amps for the A-901.

Configuration Options

The series offers two primary configurations to suit different mounting requirements:

  • A-900: Features a standard 1/4 DIN cutout in the front cover, allowing controls to mount directly into the panel.
  • A-901: Includes a clear plastic front window with a rear panel for mounting the control inside the enclosure.

Both models include a lockable latch to prevent unauthorized removal of the control. Physical dimensions are 7-3/4 [195.33] in height, 7-3/4 [195.33] in width (top view), and 4-1/8 [106.17] depth. The front cutout measures 4-1/4 [107.95] x 4-1/4 [107.95]. Mounting holes are specified as 3-39/64 [91.68] on the top view and 10-32 UNF-2B TYP 8 PLCS on the bottom view.

Available accessories include Model A-600, an R/C snubber.

The A-900 provides a direct panel mount interface via its cutout, while the A-901 utilizes a clear window and internal rear mounting plate.
