Supported Applications

The Omega SCE-ELJSS Series consists of NEMA Type 4X Enviroline® junction enclosures constructed from Stainless Steel Types 304 and 316. These units are designed to house electrical controls, instruments, and components in areas that may be regularly hosed down or exposed to very wet or oily conditions. The series provides protection against dust, dirt, oil, and water ingress.

For outdoor applications, a drip shield is recommended with this enclosure family.

Operating Conditions & Performance

The SCE-ELJSS Series meets the following environmental ratings:

• NEMA Type 4, 4X, 12 & 13
• UL Listed Type 4, 4X & 12
• CSA Type 12, 4, & 4X
• IEC 60529 IP 66

The enclosures are constructed from 0.063" Stainless Steel Type 304 and 316.

Configuration Options

The series is available in multiple sizes defined by height, width, and depth dimensions (in inches). Model numbers follow the format SCE-<HEIGHT><WIDTH><DEPTH>ELJSS for Type 304 Stainless Steel or SCE-<HEIGHT><WIDTH><DEPTH>ELJSS6 for Type 316 Stainless Steel. Available configurations include:

• Door Operation: Doors open 180° with a removable hinge.
• Latching Mechanism: Black Mini ¼ Turn Latches that are opened or closed with a screwdriver.
• Gasketing and Sealing: Includes sealing washers, hole plugs, and an optional Oil-Resistant Gasket.
• Mounting Features: Mounting feet included; standoffs provided for mounting optional sub-panels. Panels can be special ordered in Stainless Steel.
• Grounding: Ground stud on door and body.

Latch configuration varies by enclosure height: one latch centered vertically if height is ≤ 355.6 (14); two latches located 76.2 (3) from top and bottom of door if height is > 355.6 (14); three latches are required if height is > 508 (20).

Key Product Differences

The primary distinction within the SCE-ELJSS Series is the stainless steel grade:

• Type 304 Stainless Steel: Identified by model numbers ending in ELJSS (e.g., SCE-604ELJSS).
• Type 316 Stainless Steel: Identified by model numbers ending in ELJSS6 (e.g., SCE-604ELJSS6).

The series offers a range of external dimensions, with heights ranging from 6.00 to 16.00 inches and corresponding width/depth combinations as listed in the specification table.
