Supported Applications

The Dwyer Series WPT Multi-Jet Plastic Water Meter is a mechanical, water totalizing meter designed for potable water applications and some corrosive environments. The series supports low-cost residential water measurement, agriculture (including fertilizers, pesticides, and herbicides), irrigation, and remote water monitoring.

Operating Conditions & Performance

The Series WPT operates with a service limit of 150 psi (10 bar) and a temperature limit that varies by source documentation: the data sheet specifies 112°F (50°C), while the instruction manual lists 122°F (50°C). Accuracy is defined by flow regime:

• WPT-A-X-XX models: Transitional Flow ±3%; Nominal Flow ±1.5%
• WPT-B-X-XX models: Transitional Flow ±5%; Nominal Flow ±2%

Flow Ranges by Model Family

The series offers distinct performance envelopes based on the model family:

• WPT-A models (NPT couplings): Max flow ranges from 20 to 100 GPM. Nominal flow ranges include 1 to 20, 2 to 30, 3 to 50, and 5 to 100 GPM.
• WPT-B models (BSPT couplings): Max flow ranges from 3 to 30 GPM. Nominal flow ranges include .12 to 1.5, .2 to 2.5, .25 to 3.5, .48 to 6, and .8 to 10 GPM.

Configuration Options

The Series WPT is configurable across body sizes, coupling types, pulse rates, and display units.

• Couplings: NPT couplings (1/2˝ to 2˝) are standard on all WPT-A models. BSPT couplings (1/2˝ to 1-3/4˝) are standard on all WPT-B models.
• Pulse Output: Options include 0.1, 1, 10, or 100 gal per pulse for gallon-based units; metric options (1 L, 10 L, 100 L, 1000 L) are available.
• Totalizing Display: Maximum display values of 9,999,999.99 or 9,999,999.9 Gallons depending on the model chart entry.
• Electrical Connections: Color-coded lead wires, 4.5´ (1.5 m) long; electrical rating is 0.01 A @ 24 VAC/DC.

Wetted Materials

The meter construction utilizes specific materials for wetted parts:

• Body: Nylon 66
• Couplings: Nylon 66; 1-1/2˝ (40 mm) sizes use lead free ECO BRASS® alloy.
• Measuring Chamber: ABS Plastic

Key Product Differences

The series is divided into two primary model families distinguished by coupling standards and flow ranges:

• WPT-A: Designed for NPT couplings, offering higher maximum flows (up to 100 GPM) suitable for larger residential or light commercial lines.
• WPT-B: Designed for BSPT couplings, covering lower flow ranges with a minimum max flow of 3 GPM and transitional flows starting at 0.03 GPM.

All models feature a magnetically driven, hermetically sealed register completely separated from the water. The unit must be installed in a horizontal position with the register face pointing up to prevent leakage or meter damage.
