Supported Applications
The Omega LCM105 and LC105 series are aluminum 'S' Beam load cells designed for tension/compression applications. These lightweight, high-accuracy sensors are calibrated in tension and available in standard (LC) and metric (LCM) models to accommodate diverse measurement needs.
Operating Conditions & Performance
The series operates within an ambient temperature range of -40 to 93°C (-40 to 200°F), with a compensated temperature range of 17 to 71°C (60 to 160°F). Measurement ranges span from 0-25 lb to 0-1000 lb and 0-11 kgf to 0-455 kgf. Performance specifications include linearity of ±0.03% FSO, repeatability of ±0.01% FSO, and hysteresis of ±0.05% FSO for capacities ≤ 250 lbs or 100 kgf (±0.02% FSO for > 250 lbs or 100 kgf). The electrical output is 3 mV/V ±0.0075 mV/V with a bridge resistance of 350 ± 5 Ω, requiring an excitation voltage of 10 Vdc (maximum 15 Vdc).
Thermal effects are specified as Zero: 0.002% FSO/°C and Span: 0.002% rdg/°C. The load cells feature a Safe Overload rating of 150% of capacity and an Ultimate Overload rating of 300% of capacity, with full-scale deflection between 0.25 to 0.50 mm (0.010 to 0.020"). The series carries NIST Standard compliance and RoHS certification.
Configuration Options
The LCM105/LC105 series offers configurable process connections based on capacity ranges:
- Low Ranges (≤ 250 lb / ≤ 100 kgf): Process connection of 1/4-20UNC-2B or metric M6 both ends.
- High Ranges (> 250 lb / > 100 kgf): Threaded connections include ½-20 UNF for standard models and M12 x 1.75-6H for metric models.
Electrical connectivity is provided via a 4-Conductor Shielded Cable with lengths of 9 m (30'). Wire gauge varies by capacity: 24 AWG for ≤ 100 kgf/200 lb and 20 AWG for > 100 kgf/200 lb. The series supports an IP65 protection class.
Optional configurations include the LC115/LCM115 connector style, which changes the model number suffix without additional charge. Accessories available separately include:
- PT06F10-6S: Mating connector for LC115/LCM115 series load cells.
- CA-4PC24-2-015: Cable assembly with twist lock connector for LC115/LCM115 series load cells.
The units come complete with 5-point NIST-traceable calibration and a 59 kΩ shunt. Compatible meters include DPiS, DP41-S, DP25B-S (for standard models) and DP41-B, DP41-S, DP25B-S (for metric models).
Key Product Differences
The series distinguishes between standard inch-based units (LC105/LC115) and metric-based units (LCM105/LCM115). The LC115 and LCM115 variants differ from the base 105 models by offering a connector style option rather than a fixed cable, requiring separate purchase of mating connectors or twist-lock assemblies. Dimensions vary by capacity: low-range models feature an overall diameter of ø38 (1.50) mm (inch) and height of 64 (2.5) mm (inch), while high-range models have specific dimensional parameters A through E corresponding to their threaded connections.
