Supported Applications

The Dwyer Series 605 Magnehelic® Differential Pressure Indicating Transmitter is designed for low differential pressure monitoring in building HVAC systems. It provides simultaneous local indication on an analog scale and a standard two-wire, 4-20 mA signal suitable for control applications where visual verification during routine maintenance or troubleshooting is required. The unit measures positive, negative, or differential air and non-combustible, compatible gases.

Operating Conditions & Performance

The Series 605 operates within an ambient temperature range of 20 to 120°F (-6.67 to 48.9°C), with a compensated temperature range of 32 to 120°F (0 to 48.9°C). The thermal effect is specified as ±0.025% FS/°F (0.045% FS/°C). Measurement ranges span from 0-0.5 in w.c. up to 0-50 in w.c., with additional models covering bidirectional spans such as 60-0-60 Pa and 100-0-100 Pa, alongside single-ended Pascal ranges including 0-60 Pa through 0-500 Pa.

Electrical accuracy varies by model range: ±4% of full scale for the lowest differential spans (e.g., 0.05-0.20 in w.c.), improving to ±0.5% of full scale for ranges from 0-2.0 in w.c. through 0-30 in w.c. and specific Pascal models. Mechanical accuracy is listed separately per model, ranging from ±2% to ±4%. The device features a patented design providing quick response to pressure changes.

Configuration Options

The series supports multiple configuration options for mounting, bezel material, and calibration documentation:

  • Housing & Bezel: Standard durable housing with an optional 304 brushed stainless steel bezel (-SS), which is backward compatible with standard Magnehelic® gage installation diameters.
  • Mounting Accessories: Includes options for flush mounting (A-298 flat aluminum bracket) and surface mounting via a steel bracket with gray hammertone epoxy finish (A-370).
  • Calibration Documentation: A NIST traceable calibration certificate is available as an option (-NIST).
  • Process Connections & Electricals: Features 1/8" female NPT process connections and a screw terminal block for electrical wiring. The unit requires a 10-35 VDC power supply (two-wire) with a maximum loop resistance of 0 to 1250 Ω.
  • Adjustments: Zero and span adjustments are provided via protected potentiometers.

The unit weighs 1 lb, 12.6 oz (811 g). Wetted materials must be confirmed by consulting the factory. The device is not field repairable; units requiring service should be returned to the manufacturer.

Key Product Differences

Variants within the Series 605 are distinguished primarily by their measurement range and corresponding accuracy specifications as defined in the model chart:

  • Inches of Water Column (in w.c.):** Models include 605-00N (0.05-0.20), 605-11 (±0.25), and standard ranges from 605-0 through 605-30, with maximum pressure limits varying between 2 psi (13.79 kPa) and 11 psi (75.8 kPa) depending on the specific range.
  • Pascal Ranges: Models such as 605-60PA through 605-500PA cover ranges from 0 to 60 Pa up to 0 to 500 Pa, with maximum pressure limits typically at 10 psi (68.95 kPa) or 2 psi (13.79 kPa).
  • Bidirectional Models: Specific models like 605-12 and 605-13 offer bidirectional measurement capabilities (e.g., ±60 in w.c.).
