Supported Applications
The FL-500 Series are in-line flowmeters for use with water and air. Fluid moves a piston against spring pressure within a transparent flow tube, and the piston position — visible through the tube — indicates flow rate directly on a printed scale, so no external metering electronics are required for a local reading.
With a PVC flow tube and float, 316 SS end fittings, brass components, and FKM seals, the meters suit water distribution, cooling-loop balancing, and compressed-air monitoring. They can be fitted with electric proximity switches (ordered separately) for flow signaling, come complete with an operator's manual, and offer a 1 YEAR WARRANTY with optional NIST (water only) and RoHS.
Do not apply wrenches on the plastic body alone when connecting or breaking pipe connections, and do not use solvent of any kind for cleaning.
Operating Conditions & Performance
Accuracy is ±5% FS with a pressure drop of 4 psig FS. Rated service is 200 psig for liquid and 100 psig for gas, both at 21°C (70°F). The maximum temperature is 66°C (150°F) at 25 psig.
Each meter is 177.8 mm (7") long. Models FL-505 through FL-515 use a 50.8 mm (2") diameter body with a 1 FNPT connection, while models FL-530 through FL-550 use a 76.2 mm (3") diameter body with a 1½ FNPT connection. A polysulfone body and float are available by adding the suffix "-PLSF" to the model number.
Configuration Options
The six base models differ in flow capacity and port size, and each is available with standard female NPT fittings or in a BSPT-threaded version (the "-BSPT" variant). All share the same PVC/316 SS construction, ±5% FS accuracy, and pressure ratings.
- FL-505 — 1 FNPT, water 2 to 20 LPM, air 5 to 50 SCFM.
- FL-510 — 1 FNPT, water 4 to 38 LPM, air 15 to 90 SCFM.
- FL-515 — 1 FNPT, water 6 to 55 LPM, air 15 to 135 SCFM.
- FL-530 — 1½ FNPT, water 11 to 110 LPM, air 30 to 300 SCFM.
- FL-540 — 1½ FNPT, water 15 to 150 LPM, air 40 to 400 SCFM.
- FL-550 — 1½ FNPT, water 20 to 200 LPM, air 50 to 500 SCFM.
The smaller-bore FL-505/FL-510/FL-515 group covers low-to-medium flows on a 2" body, while the larger FL-530/FL-540/FL-550 group extends to higher flows on a 3" body.
