Supported Applications
The DP41-S is a 1/8 DIN high-performance strain meter with a high-resolution 6-digit display, built for demanding industrial instrumentation. As the strain-gage member of the DP41 platform, it reads strain gages, load cells and potentiometers, and it also accepts DC voltage and current signals, making it a flexible front end for force, weight and process measurement.
A 14-segment LED display gives clear alphanumeric messaging, and the meter combines high accuracy with fast conversion for responsive readings. Alarm and control capabilities, isolated communications, analog retransmission and relay outputs let a single meter both display a bridge measurement and act on it.
The front panel is rated NEMA 4 (IP65) for wash-down and dusty environments, and the meter carries CE, UKCA and cULus marks. A red LED display is standard, with a green LED available at no charge.
Operating Conditions & Performance
The meter delivers a headline accuracy of ±0.005% rdg with a 15-bit resolution and a dual-slope conversion technique. Step response is 1 s to 99.9%, and the reading rate is 3 or 13 readings per second at 60 Hz (3 or 12 at 50 Hz) after a 50-minute warm-up to rated accuracy.
DC voltage and current ranges include:
- 0 to 100 mV and ±500 mV
- 0 to 5 V, 1 to 5 V, 0 to 10 V and 0 to 100 V
- ±5 V and ±50 V
- 0 to 20 mA and 4 to 20 mA
For strain-gage and load-cell bridges, selectable excitation is provided at 10 V at 30 mA or 24 V at 25 mA. The meter operates from 0 to 50°C (32 to 122°F) at 95% RH non-condensing and stores at -40 to 85°C (-40 to 185°F). Power is 115 or 230 Vac, 49 to 400 Hz, or 10 to 32 Vdc. Analog output covers 0 to 5 V, 0 to 10 V, 0 to 20 mA and 4 to 20 mA, with dual 7 A mechanical relays available as a board option.
Configuration Options
The model number is assembled as DP41 - <Input Type> - <Power> - <Communications> - <Output> - <Accessory>. Within this series the input is fixed as strain, so meters differ by power supply and by the communication, analog-output and relay options fitted.
Power and display options include:
- -230 - 230 Vac power.
- -DC - 10 to 32 Vdc isolated power.
- -GN - green LED display.
Capability expands through plug-in option boards, which correspond to the output and communication suffixes in the model number:
- DP40-A3 - analog output.
- DP40-S24 - isolated RS232/485 communications.
- DP40-B - isolated BCD output board.
- DP40-R - dual 7 A mechanical relays; DP40-R4 - dual 7 A and dual 1 A relays.
