Supported Applications

The Omega IP510 and EP510 series are heavy-duty electro-pneumatic converters designed for industrial control systems. These instruments reduce a supply pressure to a regulated output pressure that is directly proportional to an electrical input signal, functioning as Current I/P or Voltage E/P transducers.

Operating Conditions & Performance

The series provides closed-loop pressure feedback control with typical accuracy of ±0.1% of output span and maximum accuracy of ±0.25% of output span. Repeatability is typically ±0.01% of output span, while hysteresis ranges from a typical ±0.01% to a maximum ±0.10% of output span.

Configuration Options

The series supports multiple input signal types and pneumatic output ranges. Models are available in NEMA 1 (IP00) or NEMA 4X (IP66) enclosures to suit different environmental requirements.

  • Input Signals: Current models accept 4 to 20 mA; Voltage models accept 1 to 5 Vdc
  • Pneumatic Output Ranges: 3 to 15 psig, 3 to 27 psig, 6 to 30 psig, 0 to 60 psig, and 0 to 120 psig
  • Power Supply Requirements: 9 to 28 Vdc for Intrinsically Safe/Non-Incendive; 9 to 40 Vdc for General Purpose
  • Load Resistance: 6000 Ω minimum

Process connections include a ¼ NPT Supply Pressure Port and a ¼ NPT Gauge Port. Electrical connection is provided via a ¼ NPT electrical port or Coil Wire Connector.

Key Product Differences

The series distinguishes between Current to Pressure (I/P) models, designated with the IP prefix, and Voltage to Pressure (E/P) models, designated with the EP prefix. Enclosure ratings differentiate standard duty from hazardous location applications:

  • NEMA 1 (IP00): Standard enclosure for general industrial environments.
  • NEMA 4X (IP66): Ruggedized enclosure offering protection against water and dust, suitable for washdown or harsh conditions. Models with this rating carry the suffix '1' in the model number (e.g., IP511).

Wetted materials include standard Buna-N seals; Fluorocarbon seals are available as an option by adding the '-F' suffix to the model number. The series includes FM Approved and CSA Approved certifications, with Intrinsically Safe ratings for Class I, Groups A, B, C, D.
