Supported Applications

The Omega OM-CP-EVENT101A is an event data logger designed for recording input transitions or contact closures from external sources. Documented applications include monitoring pulse state initiators such as gas, water, and electric meters.

Operating Conditions & Performance

The device operates in ambient temperatures of -40 to 80°C (-40 to 176°F) with a humidity rating of 0 to 95% RH non-condensing. It features an input range of 0 to +30V, distinguishing between Input Low (<0.4V) and Input High (>2.8V). The logger records events with a minimum active (low) time detection of 10 Microseconds and offers a reading rate selectable from 4 Hz down to once every 24 hours.

Time accuracy is specified as ±1 minute/month at 20°C (68°F) for stand-alone data logging. The unit stores up to 406,323 readings in non-volatile solid-state memory with configurable wrap-around capability. Power is supplied by a user-replaceable 3.6V lithium battery included with the device, providing a typical life of 10 years dependent upon frequency and duty cycle.

Configuration Options

The series supports various configuration options for connectivity, power maintenance, and environmental protection:

  • Data Retrieval & Software: USB interface (cable required) at 115,200 baud; compatible with Windows XP SP3/Vista/7 and 8 (32 and 64-bit). The OM-CP-IFC200 accessory includes the software and a 1.8 m (6') USB cable.
  • Enclosures: Standard ABS Plastic housing; optional NEMA 4 (IP65) weatherproof enclosure (OM-CP-WATERBOX101A) constructed of black anodized aluminum with dimensions of 74 H x 148 W x 39 mm D (2.9 x 5.8 x 1.5").
  • Power & Maintenance: Replacement battery OM-CP-BAT105; maintenance kit OM-CP-WATERBOX101A-KIT for the waterbox enclosure.
  • Configuration Features: Immediate start, delay start up to 18 months, and multiple pushbutton start/stop modes. Optional password protection restricts access to configuration options while allowing data readout without a password.

Key Product Differences

The OM-CP-EVENT101A is the base event data logger model within this series. The product family includes specific accessory models for interface connectivity (OM-CP-IFC200), battery replacement (OM-CP-BAT105), and environmental housing (OM-CP-WATERBOX101A).
