Supported Applications

The Dwyer Series TE consists of duct and immersion temperature sensors designed to monitor air or water temperature throughout a building management system or an air handler unit. These sensors are configured for installation in HVAC environments where precise thermal monitoring is required.

Operating Conditions & Performance

Series TE sensors operate within a specified range of -40 to 302°F (-40 to 150°C). Accuracy varies by sensor element type: the thermistor temperature sensor provides ±0.22°C @ 25°C (±0.4°F @ 77°F), while the RTD temperature sensor meets DIN class A specifications of ±0.15°C @ 0°C (±0.28°F @ 32°F). The housing material for enclosed models is UL 94 V-0 polycarbonate plastic, and specific configurations achieve a NEMA 4X (IP66) enclosure rating.

Configuration Options

Mounting Configurations

• Duct Mount: Probe only (DFN), probe in general purpose housing (DFG), and probe in NEMA 4X housing (DFW).
• Immersion Mount: Probe only (IBN), probe in general purpose housing (IBG), and probe in NEMA 4X housing (IBW).

Sensor Elements & Outputs

Mechanical & Termination Options

• Probe Lengths: Available in 2.5", 4", 6", 8", 12", and 18" (DFN/DFG only).
• Probe Diameter: 1/4" for DFN/DFG models; 1/4" double encapsulated for other configurations.
• Terminations: Options include 4" leads with spade connectors, 4" leads only, and an 8' plenum rated cable (with or without spade connectors).
• Fittings: Immersion models can be configured with a 1/2" NPT compression fitting or a 1/4" NPT compression fitting.

Housing Features

The series includes design features such as external tab housing and flange options for duct applications. Enclosed models feature a 1/4 turn housing cover with a ball chain connector to prevent dropping during maintenance. Multiple conduit knockouts are provided for easy installation positioning.

Variants within the Series TE differ primarily by mounting configuration, sensor element type, probe length, and termination style. The model number structure follows the format: TE - [Mounting Configuration] - [Sensor Type] - [Probe Length] - [Probe Diameter] - [Termination] - [Fittings]. For example, a duct mount probe with a 10k Ω type III thermistor and specific length/termination is designated as TE-DFN-A0448-00. The NEMA 4X (IP66) rating applies specifically to DFW and IBW configurations.
