Supported Applications

The Omega JPCB, TJPCB, RJPCB, and JPJB series comprise standard and miniature conduit box connector systems designed for industrial process instrumentation. These assemblies provide a secure interface point between field sensors and control equipment using quick disconnect technology.

Operating Conditions & Performance

The series features metal housings with ¼ NPT fittings to accommodate electrical connections. Connectors are color-coded per ANSI standards to match specific thermocouple types, ensuring correct polarity during installation. The design incorporates snap-action handles for rapid sensor replacement and maintenance.

  • Connector Types: Quick Disconnect (Color-Coded), Rectangular Terminals, Round Connector Terminals
  • Polarity Options: Male or Female configurations available per model series
  • Circuit Counts: 4-circuit, 5-circuit, and 6-circuit options depending on the housing style

Configuration Options

The product line offers a broad envelope of configurable dimensions across four primary families to address specific panel mounting needs.

Housing Families & Circuit Counts

  • JPCB (Standard Conduit Box): 5-circuit configurations with rectangular connectors; available in Male (-M) or Female (-F).
  • TJPCB (3-Prong Standard): 4-circuit conduit boxes featuring 3-prong terminals; offered as Male or Female.
  • RJPCB (Round Connector): 6-circuit conduit boxes with round connector terminals; available in Male or Female versions.
  • JPJB (Miniature Junction Box): Configurable from 1 to 6 positions. Orientation options include Straight (-ST), Right Hand (-RH), Left Hand (-LH), and Butt End (-BE).

Sensor Calibration Support

All models require specification of the thermocouple calibration type, which determines the internal color coding:

  • Type J (Iron-Constantan)
  • Type K (Chromel-Alumel), including KI variants
  • Type T (Copper-Constantan), including TI variants
  • Type E (Chromel-Constantan)
  • Type R/S (Platinum-Rhodium/Platinum)
  • Type U (Iron-Copel)
  • Type N (Nicrosil-Nisil) — available on JPJB series

Optional accessories include the standard size SPJ-CAP-12 package of 12 wire and cable clamps (model JB-CC), sold separately, and miniature dust caps MPJ-CAP-12.

Ordering Structure

The series uses a modular naming convention to define the circuit count, calibration type, gender/terminal style, or orientation:

  • JPCB: Circuit Count-Calibration-Gender (M/F)
  • TJPCB/RJPCB: Similar structure with specific circuit counts fixed by the prefix.
  • JPJB: Position Count-Calibration-Configuration (ST, RH, LH, BE).

Key Product Differences

Variants within this series are distinguished by the physical form factor of the housing and the terminal geometry. The JPCB family provides standard rectangular connectors for 5 circuits, while TJPCB models utilize a 3-prong design for 4 circuits. RJPCB assemblies employ round connector terminals to support up to 6 circuits in a compact footprint.

The JPJB miniature series differs by offering variable position counts (1 through 6) and multiple mounting orientations—Straight, Right Hand, Left Hand, or Butt End—to fit constrained panel layouts. While the standard conduit boxes are defined by male/female polarity on fixed circuit counts, the miniature junction boxes define their configuration primarily by orientation suffixes.
