Supported Applications

The Dwyer Series 2-5000 MiniHelic® II is a compact, dial-type differential pressure gage designed for clean, cost-effective measurement in applications requiring no external power. The series supports room positive pressure sensing, cabinet air-purging, medical respiratory equipment, air samplers, electronic air cooling systems, laminar flow hoods, filter status indication, fume hood face velocity monitoring, and duct pressures.

Service is restricted to air and compatible non-corrosive gases. The gage features a blow-out membrane molded in conjunction with the diaphragm to accommodate over-pressure events safely up to 30 psig (2.067 bar) continuous total pressure on either connection.

Operating Conditions & Performance

The Series 2-5000 operates within an ambient temperature range of 20°F to 120°F (-6.67°C to 48.9°C). Accuracy is specified as ±5% of FS at 70°F (21.1°C).

Measurement ranges span from low differential pressures up to higher values, including:

• Inches water column: 0 to 0.5 in w.c through 0 to 3000 in w.c
• Pounds per square inch differential (psid): 0 to 5 psid and 0 to 10 psid
• Pascals (Pa): 0 to 125 Pa, 0 to 250 Pa, 0 to 500 Pa, and 0 to 750 Pa

The gage is calibrated and zeroed at the factory in a vertical position. If used in any other orientation, it must be re-zeroed each time the position changes; models with ranges under 5 inches w.c (1.24 kPa) should generally remain in the vertical position unless special calibration was specified.

Configuration Options

The series offers configurable process connections, mounting options, and accessories to suit specific installation needs:

• Housing & Materials: Glass-filled nylon housing with a polycarbonate lens. Wetted materials are glass-filled nylon and polycarbonate; consult the factory for detailed wetted material compatibility.
• Process Connections: Standard barbed connections for 3/16" I.D. tubing or optional 1/8" NPT (M) fittings via option code -NPT.
• Mounting Options: Surface mount using included studs and nuts, panel mounting with a bracket, or portable use with the A-434 kit. Optional stand-hang brackets (A-362) are available for aluminum mounting.
• Calibration & Identification: Factory calibration (-FC), NIST traceable calibration certificate (-NIST), and an aluminum tag (-AT) can be specified at order time.

Standard accessories include (2) 4-40 x 1-5/8" mounting studs, (2) 4-40 hex nuts, a .050" hex allen wrench, and a panel mounting bracket. Additional options include the A-609 air filter kit and the A-489 static pressure tip.

The Series 2-5000 is available in multiple model numbers corresponding to specific measurement ranges, such as 2-5001 (0 to 1 in w.c), 2-5005 (0 to 5 in w.c), and metric variants like 2-5000-1KPA. Models are offered with standard barbed connections or the -NPT suffix for threaded fittings.

Dimensions vary slightly by configuration but generally feature a diameter of approximately 2-19/32" (65.88 mm) and an overall height including mounting flange of 3-1/16" (77.79 mm). The unit weighs 6 oz (170 g).

Agency approvals include meeting the technical requirements of EU Directive 2011/65/EU (RoHS II).
