Supported Applications
The Omega TPJ series consists of 3-Prong Snap-In Panel Jacks designed for Thermocouples and RTD's. These connectors accept Heavy Duty OTP-Type 3-Prong Connectors, providing a reusable interface that requires no additional mounting hardware or installation tools.
- Thermocouple types K (CHROMEGA®-ALOMEGA®), T (Copper-Constantan), J (Iron-Constantan), and E (CHROMEGA®-Constantan).
- Type U Uncompensated connectors used with type B thermocouples (Pt/6% Rh-Pt 30% Rh), RTD's, and thermistors.
Operating Conditions & Performance
The TPJ series features a glass-filled nylon housing rated for an ambient operating temperature of -29 to 180°C (-20 to 356°F). The connectors are interlocking, color-coded, and numbered. Electrical connections accept Stranded or Solid Wire up to Size 14 AWG using Combination Phillips/Slot Screws.
- Overall dimensions: Height 55.6 mm (2.19"); Width 19.1 mm (0.75").
- Note: Minor discoloration of the connector may occur between 150°C (302°F) and 180°C (356°F), though electrical properties are not affected.
Configuration Options
The series supports configurable shell colors, alloy codes, and pin configurations to match specific sensor requirements. Model numbers follow the format TPJ-<Alloy Code>-<Shell Color Code>.
- Connector Gender: Female prongs (suffix "-F") or male pins (change suffix to "-M").
- Thermocouple Compatibility and Shell Colors: • Type K: Yellow shell • Type T: Blue shell • Type J: Black shell • Type E: Purple shell • Type U (Uncompensated): White shell
Key Product Differences
Variants within the TPJ series are distinguished by their alloy code and connector gender. The "-F" suffix denotes female connectors, while changing this to "-M" provides jacks with male connector prongs at no additional cost.
- Type U (Uncompensated) variants utilize Copper for both compensating alloys (+/-).
- Removal Tool SIRT-2 is available as an accessory option.
