Supported Applications

The Omega SV130 Series comprises direct-acting, normally open (NO), 2-way solenoid valves designed for general-purpose control of liquids and gases. These stainless steel units are engineered for industrial and laboratory environments where a rugged NEMA 4 (IP65) housing is required to protect the coil assembly.

Operating Conditions & Performance

The SV130 Series operates within an ambient temperature range of -9 to 50°C (15 to 122°F). The valves are rated for a maximum static pressure equal to 1.5 times the maximum differential pressure and can handle vacuum conditions greater than 5 microns ABS. Response time is specified as 4 to 15 ms for both opening and closing actions across the series.

Power requirements are defined by standard coils consuming 10 W at 120 Vac, 50 to 60 Hz. The wetted parts consist of stainless steel, copper, and seals made from FKM (fluoroelastomer).

Differential Pressure Ratings

Minimum differential pressure is not required for any model in the series; all models operate at a minimum of 0 psid. Maximum differential pressures vary by orifice size:

  • SV131 (³⁄₆₄" orifice): 400 psid maximum.
  • SV132 (¹⁄₁₆" orifice): 325 psid maximum.
  • SV133 (³⁄₃₂" orifice): 250 psid maximum.

Configuration Options

The series is configured with a fixed ¼ NPT fitting and offers three distinct flow coefficients based on the internal orifice diameter. All models feature FKM seals to ensure compatibility with various media within their pressure limits.

  • SV131: Features a ³⁄₆₄" orifice providing a Cv of 0.05, suitable for lower flow applications requiring higher differential pressure tolerance up to 400 psid.
  • SV132: Equipped with a ¹⁄₁₆" orifice and a Cv of 0.11, rated for maximum pressures up to 325 psid.
  • SV133: Utilizes a larger ³⁄₃₂" orifice delivering a Cv of 0.15 with a maximum pressure rating of 250 psid.

The valves are designed for pipe mounting in any direction and weigh approximately 500 g (1.1 lb). Replacement coils are available as accessories, including SVCOIL-110AC (110 Vac), SVCOIL-220AC (220 Vac), and SVCOIL-24DC (24 Vdc).

Electrical Connection

The coil assembly includes two wires that can be connected as hot or neutral. The electrical interface utilizes a # 10-32 NF TH'D x 0.25 DP - 2 PLCs connection.

Key Product Differences

Variation within the SV130 Series is defined strictly by flow capacity and pressure rating, determined by the orifice size:

  • SV131 vs. SV133: The primary distinction lies in the trade-off between maximum differential pressure and flow coefficient (Cv). Model SV131 supports higher pressures (400 psid) with a lower Cv (0.05), whereas model SV133 offers increased flow capacity (Cv 0.15) at reduced maximum pressure limits (250 psid).
  • Coil Voltage Options: While the standard configuration is supplied with 120 Vac coils, alternative voltages are available via replacement parts. Note that UL approval is not available for configurations using 24 Vdc coils.
