Supported Applications

The Omega LC302 series comprises miniature button compression load cells designed for robotic and test bench applications. These sensors feature a low profile of 12.7 mm (0.50") height with an integrated built-in load button to facilitate easy installation in compact spaces.

Operating Conditions & Performance

The LC302 series delivers high accuracy performance with combined linearity, hysteresis, and repeatability of ±0.5% FSO. Each unit includes a 19 mm (0.75") diameter stainless steel housing rated IP54 for environmental protection.

  • Measurement Range: Standard models cover 25 lb to 1,000 lb; Metric models range from 100 N to 5,000 N.
  • Operating Temperature (Ambient): 16 to 71°C (60 to 160°F).
  • Process Temperature: -54 to 107°C (-65 to 225°F).
  • Excitation Voltage: 5 Vdc, with a maximum of 15 Vdc.
  • Output Signal: Nominal 1 mV/V.

The series includes a built-in temperature compensation board and comes complete with 5-point NIST-traceable calibration data along with 59 kΩ shunt data for verification.

Configuration Options

The LC302/LCM302 Series is available in two distinct model families to accommodate different unit preferences, each offering specific capacity steps and compatible meter options.

Standard Models (LC302)

  • Capacities: 25 lb (111 N), 50 lb (222 N), 100 lb (445 N), 250 lb (1,112 N), 500 lb (2,224 N), and 1,000 lb (4,448 N).
  • Compatible Meters: DPiS, DP41-S, DP25B-S.

Metric Models (LCM302)

  • Capacities: 100 N (22.5 lb), 200 N (45 lb), 500 N (112 lb), 1,000 N (225 lb), 2,000 N (450 lb), and 5,000 N (1,124 lb).
  • Compatible Meters: iSeries, DP41-S, DP25B-S.

All variants feature a load resistance of 350 Ω minimum and are supplied with a 1.5 m (5') 4-conductor insulated cable for electrical connection.

Key Product Differences

The primary distinction within the series lies between the LC302 standard models, which prioritize pound-force capacities up to 1,000 lb, and the LCM302 metric models, which provide Newton-based ranges extending to 5,000 N. While both families share identical physical dimensions—19 mm (0.75") diameter with a spherical radius of 5.08 mm (0.200")—they differ in their specific capacity increments and the compatible meter series listed for each model number.
