Supported Applications

The Dwyer Model OSW-100 is a wall mount occupancy sensor designed to automatically control HVAC ventilation systems. Utilizing infrared technology, the unit detects movement within its field of view to trigger ON-OFF control for fan coil operation.

Operating Conditions & Performance

The series operates with an ambient temperature range of -4 to 140°F (-20 to 60°C). The infrared sensor features a dual element design and provides detection up to 49.2 ft (15 m) away within a wide 110° viewing angle. Detectable speed ranges from 0.33 to 9.8 ft/sec (0.1 to 3.0 m/sec). The unit requires a power supply of 22-26 VAC/DC, with standby consumption at 5 mA and operating consumption at 18 mA.

Installation guidelines specify a mounting height between 5.9 to 11.8 ft (1.8 to 3.6 m). The sensor includes a unique dual delay processor intended to eliminate false triggers caused by short-term occupancies.

The Model OSW-100 is configured as a wall mount occupancy sensor with the following documented capabilities:

The sensor includes an LED indicator that blinks rapidly if the unit is improperly wired. The lens requires cleaning with a soft cloth or cotton swab using water or medical alcohol.

Key Product Differences

The Model OSW-100 differs from the related OSC-200 model in mounting style and detection geometry. While the OSC-200 is an omnidirectional sensor with a 360° spherical Fresnel lens, the OSW-100 provides a directional wall mount configuration with a 110° viewing angle.

ON/OFF delay settings are configurable via internal jumpers or switches (labeled A through F in documentation), offering ON delays from 0 s to 5 min and OFF delays ranging from 10 s to 30 min. The unit is not field serviceable; repairs require returning the sensor with a return goods authorization number.
