Supported Applications

The Omega VIBROCONTROL VC-1803 is an Ethernet Bridge module designed for the VIBROCONTROL 1800 Series vibration monitoring systems. It enables data transfer and remote access for machine protection applications involving critical rotating equipment with roller element bearings as well as sleeve bearings.

Operating Conditions & Performance

The VC-1803 operates within an ambient temperature range of -10 °C to +50 °C. Storage conditions are specified from -40 °C to +85 °C. The module is housed in a DIN rail enclosure with an IP20 rating and features dimensions of H: 110, W: 23, D: 114 mm.

Configuration Options

The VC-1803 serves as the communication interface within the modular Link Concept architecture. It connects to VIBROCONTROL vibration monitors via DIN rail bus connectors and supports remote access through an EtherBridge configuration.

  • Data Storage: When connected, input channels can be trended and alarms stored on a PC running Compact Analyzer software or directly within the system memory depending on the specific bridge model (VC-1803/1804).
  • Time Waveform Recording: Supports recording of digital raw data from up to 4 input channels simultaneously via RS-485/LAN (buffered) or Mini USB/B (real-time), with sampling rates up to 10 kHz.
  • Communication Interfaces: Includes a Mini USB/B connector for remote access and supports daisy-chaining of up to 255 units via RS-485 interface using screw terminals.

System Integration & Accessories

The module integrates with the broader VIBROCONTROL ecosystem, including:

  • Vibration Monitors: VC-1850 (Accelerometers CCS), VC-1860 (Velocity Sensors), and VC-1870 (Displacement Sensors).
  • Relay Modules: Up to 24 additional relays via the VC-1801 module.
  • Data Logger Bridge: The VC-1804 EtherBridge & Data Logger offers expanded RAM for trend and time waveform storage.
  • Housing Options: Field housings available in Fibox/Polycarbonate (AC-2131, IP67), Aluminium (AC-2132, IP67), or metal (AC-2133).

Key Product Differences

The VIBROCONTROL 1800 Series distinguishes between the VC-1803 and VC-1804 EtherBridge modules based on data storage capabilities. The VC-1803 provides Ethernet connectivity for remote access, while the VC-1804 adds internal RAM to store trends and time waveform recordings event or timer-based without requiring a constant PC connection.

Compliance certifications listed for the series include CE, ISO 13849-1, ISO 10816-3, VDI 3832, and API 670. The system is powered by an external +24 V DC supply (±5%), with a maximum power consumption of 10 W for the complete setup.
