Supported Applications

The Omega ARMTS-2 Series is a rugged process water immersion heater designed for mild acid or alkaline solutions. The series features all passivated stainless steel construction and includes an integral thermostat with bulb and capillary sensing.

Operating Conditions & Performance

The ARMTS-2 Series operates on 208, 240, or 480 Vac, 1 phase power. Wattage ranges from 2 to 15 kW with surface loading between 43 and 51 W/in². The series supports two temperature control ranges: T-2 Temp. Range (60–250°F) and T-1 Temp. Range (0–100°F). Process connections are provided via a 2 NPT stainless steel screw plug, with wetted parts consisting of passivated stainless steel.

Safety and Control Notes

The integral thermostat functions as a temperature control only; it is not a fail-safe device. An approved pressure and/or temperature control should be used with these heaters to assure safe operation.

Configuration Options

The series offers configurable options across enclosure types, voltage designations, wattage levels, and temperature ranges. Model numbers follow the format ARMTS-<kW>-<Voltage Designation>-<Enclosure Type>-<Temperature Range Designation>. Available configurations include:

• Heater Wattages: 2 kW through 15 kW (specific steps depend on enclosure and temperature range)
• Voltage Options: 208, 240, or 480 Vac
• Enclosure Types:   - E1 General Purpose Enclosure (NEMA-1 rated)   - E2 Moisture Resistant/Explosion Resistant Enclosure (CSA NRTL/C Certified)
• Temperature Range Designations: T-2 or T-1

Enclosure Dimensions and Features

E1 General Purpose Enclosures feature a 5" (2") cold dimension B, with a hole for 0.75 conduit and a thermowell length of 15" (6"). E2 Moisture Resistant/Explosion Resistant Enclosures have an overall Dimension B of 21.9" (8.625), include two 1.5 NPT conduit hubs on one side with the other plugged, and feature a thermowell length of 20" (7.875).

Key Product Differences

Variants within the ARMTS-2 Series are distinguished by enclosure rating (E1 vs. E2), temperature range designation (T-1 vs. T-2), and specific wattage/voltage combinations.

• E1 models utilize a General Purpose Enclosure rated NEMA-1, while E2 models use a Moisture Resistant/Explosion Resistant enclosure certified by CSA NRTL/C.
• Models with the "T1" suffix in the model number correspond to the 0–100°F temperature range; standard T-2 models cover 60–250°F.

The series includes specific dimensional variations based on wattage, where Dimension B ranges from 7½ (19) inches for lower wattages up to 48 (122) inches for higher capacity units. Weight varies by model and enclosure type, ranging from approximately 6 lb (3 kg) for smaller E1 models to 17 lb (7 kg) for larger E2 configurations.
