Velocity Pitot Tubes

Supported Applications
The ACI Series VPT Velocity Pitot Tubes are Aluminum velocity pressure (impact) probes designed to sample air flow in HVAC duct or equipment applications. The series is used to monitor fan operation and true air flow with varying amounts of static pressure in non-critical applications.
Operating Conditions & Performance
The VPT Series operates within an ambient temperature range of -40 to 185°F (-40°C to 85°C) and a humidity range of 0 to 90% RH (non-condensing). For accurate readings, the probe should be mounted approximately 5 to 8 duct diameters downstream from elbows, obstructions, or large changes in duct area. The impact tube mounting angle must be parallel to the air stream (+/- 7 Degrees), with the tip opening directly into the air stream as indicated by the mounting arrow on the probe.
Configuration Options
The series is constructed from Aluminum and features a 1.50" (38.1 mm) diameter mounting flange with three 3/16" (4.76 mm) mounting holes spaced at 0.50" (12.70mm). The probe includes six 45° barbed tubing connections that accept 1/8" through 1/4" ID flexible plastic tubing.
Available configurations include:
- VPT: Single-point sensing with a 4" (101.6 mm) insertion length and overall length of 4.00" (101.60mm).
- VPT-8": Single-point sensing with an 8" (203.2 mm) insertion length and overall length of 8.00" (203.20mm).
- VPT KIT 4": Includes two VPT probes (4") paired with tubing (0.17" ID X 0.25" OD, 10' each), providing dual sensing points.
- VPT KIT 8": Includes two VPT-8" probes (8") paired with tubing (0.17" ID X 0.25" OD, 10' each), providing dual sensing points.
The series holds RoHS2, WEEE, and Reach agency approvals.
Key Product Differences
Variants differ primarily by insertion length (4" or 8") and packaging configuration. The standard VPT and VPT-8" models are single probes with one sensing point each. The KIT variants bundle two matching-length probes with flexible plastic tubing to enable dual-point measurement setups.
