Supported Applications
The ACI NO2 Duct Series is designed for the continuous monitoring of nitrogen dioxide (NO₂) levels, specifically targeting vehicle exhaust in non-hazardous areas. The series utilizes a wide spectrum electrochemical sensor to measure gas concentration in environments such as parking garages, arenas, warehouses, loading docks, service garages, and school bus parking areas.
Operating Conditions & Performance
The NO2 Duct Series operates within an ambient temperature range of -4°F to 104°F (-20°C to 40°C) and a humidity rating of 15 to 90% RH continuous, non-condensing; or 0 to 99% RH intermittent, non-condensing. The device is rated for atmospheric pressure +/- 10%. Performance specifications include an accuracy of +/- 2.5% of Reading and repeatability of +/- 1% of Reading. Response time is less than 60 seconds for 90% of a step change.
The factory-set measurement range is 0 to 6 ppm, with field-adjustable capability up to 0 to 10 ppm. The electrochemical sensor has an expected life of 2-3 years under normal conditions. Storage temperature requirements are 32°F to 68°F, and the unit shelf life is 6 months from the date of purchase.
Configuration Options
The series offers configurable output signals and optional alarm features housed in a rugged enclosure constructed from Polycarbonate/ABS Blend (Fire Retardant) with a NEMA 1 rating. The standard model provides analog outputs, while an enhanced variant includes display and relay capabilities.
- Output Signals: Jumper selectable between 4-20 mA or 2-10 VDC linear.
- Housing & Mounting: Wall mount enclosure with dimensions (H) 6.00" (152.4 mm) x (W) 3.5" (88.9 mm) x (D) 1.6" (40.6 mm).
- Power Supply: Accepts 24 VAC +/- 10% Floating; 24 VAC +/- 10%, One side Grounded; or 24 VDC.
- Optional Features: Available with an alphanumeric, 2-line x 8-digit LCD display, two SPDT Form C relays (Dry Contact), and a buzzer rated at 85 dB @ one foot.
- Duct Sampling Kit Components: Includes vinyl tubing (18" length), a 3 5/32" Polycarbonate/ABS Blend Pitot Tube, and an in-line filter with 5 micron rating.
Key Product Differences
The series is distinguished by the inclusion of display and alarm hardware. The standard model (NO2-D) provides analog output signals without local indication or relay contacts. The variant NO2-D-RB-D includes an LCD display, two SPDT Form 1C relays with configurable setpoints for warning and alarm functions, time delays from 0 to 60 minutes in 5-minute increments, and a buzzer.
Both models utilize the same electrochemical sensing element (Part # 6300-0035) and require calibration using zero and span gases with Part # 83830-020-000 Calibration Adapter. The series is not compatible with Q4C II, M-Controller2, or Q-Controller systems, nor does it support Modbus RTU communication.
