Supported Applications
The Omega HHTQ35 Digital Torque Gauge series is designed for handheld or test stand use in laboratory and industrial environments. These instruments perform clockwise and counterclockwise torque measurements across a variety of applications, including pass-fail testing via setpoint indicators.
Operating Conditions & Performance
The HHTQ35 series delivers an accuracy of 0.5% of full scale ± 1 digit with a sample rate of 2000 Hz. Measurement ranges span from 10 ozFin to 100 lbFin (7 kgFmm to 1150 Ncm), depending on the selected model. The unit features a backlit graphic LCD for large character display and configurable parameters accessible via menu.
Power is supplied by an included rechargeable battery or AC adapter, providing up to 7 hours of continuous use with the backlight on or 24 hours with the backlight off. A multi-step low battery indicator alerts users before automatic shutdown occurs. The gauge weighs 0.8 kg (1.8 lb).
Key Performance Specifications
- Accuracy: 0.5% of full scale ± 1 digit
- Sample Rate: 2000 Hz
- Battery Life: Up to 7 hours (backlight on) or 24 hours (backlight off)
- Data Output: USB Data Output for data collection
Safety and Operational Limits
The gauge must not be overloaded; producing torque greater than 150% of the capacity can damage the internal sensor. Users should ensure the unit is kept away from water or electrically conductive liquids. For testing brittle samples that may shatter, a machine guarding system is recommended to protect operators.
Configuration Options
The HHTQ35 series offers multiple torque ranges and resolution options tailored to specific measurement needs. Models are available with process connections via Jacobs Chuck for attaching test fixtures or tools.
Available Ranges and Resolutions
- HHTQ35-10Z: 10 ozFin range, 0.01 ozFin resolution (7 kgFmm / 7 Ncm)
- HHTQ35-20Z: 20 ozFin range, 0.02 ozFin resolution (14 kgFmm / 14 Ncm)
- HHTQ35-50Z: 50 ozFin range, 0.05 ozFin resolution (36 kgFmm / 36 Ncm)
- HHTQ35-12: 192 ozFin or 12 lbFin range; resolutions of 0.2 ozFin, 0.01 lbFin, or 0.1 Ncm (135 kgFmm / 135 Ncm)
- HHTQ35-50: 800 ozFin or 50 lbFin range; resolutions of 1 ozFin, 0.05 lbFin, or 0.5 Ncm (570 kgFmm / 570 Ncm)
- HHTQ35-100: 1600 ozFin or 100 lbFin range; resolutions of 2 ozFin, 0.1 lbFin, or 1 Ncm (1150 kgFmm / 1150 Ncm)
Included Accessories and Options
Each unit ships with a carrying case, AC adapter body (US prong standard), battery installed inside the gauge, certificate of calibration, USB cable, and resource CD containing drivers and user guides. For international use, add suffix "-E" for European plug or "-U" for UK style plug at no extra cost.
Key Product Differences
The HHTQ35 series distinguishes itself through specific range configurations denoted by model numbers such as HHTQ35-10Z, HHTQ35-12, and HHTQ35-100. Sensor dimensions vary slightly based on capacity: models with ranges ≤ 50 lbFin have a sensor length of 44.5 D x 122.4 mm L (1.75" x 4.82"), while those > 50Z range measure 44.5 D x 131.8 mm L (1.75" x 5.19"). The meter housing measures 99.1 H x 64.3 W x 38.1 mm D (3.90" x 2.53" x 1.50").
Models are certified with CE and NIST standards, backed by a 3-year warranty.

How is the torque range interpreted? 20 x 0.02 oaF is an unfamiliar way of indicating torque. Can I get that in in-ozf or N-m?
Sorry. There is a typographical error on the webpage. What we were trying to say is a measurement range 0 to 20 in-ozf with a display resolution of 0.02 in-ozf. This range specifically for model number HHTQ35-20Z
