Supported Applications

Dwyer Series BTL Side Reading Bimetal Thermometers are designed for tight, compact areas. These horizontally mounted thermometers face upright to allow quick and easy measurements. They are suitable for tank or vessel monitoring applications.

Operating Conditions & Performance

The series operates within an ambient temperature range of -40 to 392°F (-40 to 200°C). Measurement accuracy is specified as ±1% FS with a resolution of < 2% of scale. The instruments feature a 3" dial size and utilize wetted materials constructed from 304 SS, protected by a glass lens.

Measurement Ranges

The series supports the following temperature ranges:

• -40 to 160°F
• 50 to 500°F
• 0 to 250°F (-20 to 120°C)

Dual Scale Availability

Dual scale units are available by changing the last digit of the model number to D. For example, BTLS3254D provides dual-scale capability.

Configuration Options

The Series BTL offers configurable stem lengths and side-reading orientations to accommodate specific installation constraints in confined spaces.

Mechanical Configuration

All models feature a 1/2" NPT process connection. The series is available in two mounting orientations:

• Left-side reading: Models designated with an 'S' (e.g., BTLS).
• Right-side reading: Models designated with an 'R' (e.g., BTLR).

Model Number Structure

The model number follows the format: BTL. An example configuration is BTLS32541.

Key Product Differences

Variants within the Series BTL are distinguished by stem length, reading side orientation (left or right), and temperature range. The model number explicitly identifies these parameters: 'S' indicates a left-side dial face, while 'R' indicates a right-side dial face. Stem lengths of 2-1/2", 4", and 6" correspond to the numeric digits following the series prefix.

Weight for all configurations is listed as 9.2 oz (260 g).
