Supported Applications
The Omega FMG-2000/2100 Series is a flanged electromagnetic flowmeter designed for municipal and industrial water, wastewater, pump stations, and packaged plant applications. The series features a rugged, tamper-evident design with no moving parts to reduce maintenance requirements.
Operating Conditions & Performance
The FMG-2000 Series operates within an ambient temperature range of 10° to 130° F (-12° to 54° C) and supports storage temperatures from -40° to 158° F (-40° to 70° C). The meter is rated for a working pressure of 150 psi (10.3 bar) with flanges conforming to the 150 lb. ANSI pattern. Measurement accuracy is specified as +/- 1% of reading +/- 0.04% of full-scale flow from low flow cutoff to a maximum flow rate of 10 m/sec, with a low flow cutoff at 0.5% of maximum flow rate.
Media compatibility requires conductivity greater than 20 microSiemens/cm. The electronics housing and body are rated IP68 for submersion up to 10ft (3m) depth. Regulatory status includes CE (EN 61326) pending, with ISO 9001 Certified manufacturing in Stamford, CT and Manchester, UK.
Configuration Options
The series is available in pipe sizes of 3", 4", 6", 8", 10", and 12". Wetted materials vary by size: the 3" body utilizes ductile cast iron, powder-coated w/epoxy powder with a PPO/PS Blend liner; bodies from 4" to 12" use welded steel, epoxy-coated with a Santoprene/Polypropylene liner. Electrodes are constructed of 316 stainless steel, and the 3" size includes an EPDM O-ring.
Power options include DC Power (9-36 Vdc @ 250 mA max, 30 mA average) or AC Power (85-264Vac, 50/60Hz, 0.12A). The standard electrical connection is a six-conductor water-blocked cable with a polyurethane jacket and 20ft (6m) length for power, pulse frequency, or optional outputs.
Output configurations include:
- 4-20mA passive current loop
- High frequency outputs
- Pulse output
- Serial output (3.3V asynchronous receive and transmit UART, ASCII command-response protocol)
- Digital and relay outputs
The display features a 128x64 dot-matrix LCD with a light sensor keypad for user settings. Display units include Gallons, Liters, Cubic Feet, Cubic Meters, Million Gallons, Mega Liters, Imperial Gallons, and Million Imperial Gallons.
Key Product Differences
The series includes the FMG-2000 model with an internal display and optional remote configurations. The Remote Display Meter (FMG2100) is available as an option, utilizing a 30ft (9m) standard length cable that may be shortened or extended up to 100ft (30m) total using a junction box.
Power supply variations include the FMG-2000 with internal power options and the FMG-2001, which requires an external AC power supply. Additional optional outputs such as isolated open collector digital output (frequency up to 10kHz) and HART compliant current loops are configurable.
