Supported Applications

The Omega TF Series Protective PFA Tubing is designed for research and development applications involving bare wire thermocouples, RTDs, and fiber optics. The series provides insulation suitable for moist or corrosive environments.

Operating Conditions & Performance

Constructed from extruded PTFE with thin wall construction, the tubing is rated to operate at temperatures up to 260 °C (500 °F). The material is non-flammable. Dimensional specifications vary by wire gauge; for example, inside diameters range nominally from 0.30 mm (0.012 in) for 30 AWG sizes to 0.86 mm (0.034 in) for 20 AWG sizes.

Configuration Options

The series is available with color-coding for easy identification and comes pre-spoled in specific lengths. The following configuration options are documented:

• Colors: Black, Blue, Purple, Red, White, Yellow.
• AWG Sizes: 20 AWG, 24 AWG, 26 AWG, 28 AWG, and 30 AWG.
• Lengths: Standard pre-spoled lengths are 7.6 m (25 ft) or 30 m (100 ft). Other lengths may be available upon contacting Sales.

The ordering guide follows the format TF---*, where the length suffix denotes feet. For instance, model TF-R-24-25 represents red PFA tubing for 24 gage wire in a 25-foot spool.

Key Product Differences

Variants within the series are distinguished by color code and AWG size. The dimensional diagram indicates that wall dimensions vary with gauge; nominal wall thickness is 0.23 mm (0.009 in) for sizes 30 through 26 AWG, increasing to 0.25 mm (0.010 in) for 24 AWG and 0.38 mm (0.015 in) for 20 AWG.
