Supported Applications

The Omega G2 Series FLOMEC® Turbine Meters are designed for monitoring clean fluids and thin liquids with viscosities less than 100 cP. The series is engineered for use in food and beverage processing, batching, blending, water applications, industrial fluids, plating solutions, ammonium services, plant process water, chemical feed lines, and harsh chemicals including sulfuric acid and bleach.

Operating Conditions & Performance

The G2 Series operates within a process temperature range of -40° F to 250° F (-40° C to 121° C) and an ambient operating temperature of 0° F to 140° F (-18° C to 60° C). Accuracy varies by size and configuration: Turbine Only models range from ± 2.0% (1/2" / 05) down to ± 1.0% (1-1/2" / 15 and 2" / 20), while Turine w/Computer configurations offer accuracies of ± 1.5% for the 1/2" size, improving to ± 0.75% for 1-1/2" and 2" sizes.

Repeatability is specified as ± 0.1%, with PVDF models rated at ± 0.3%. Measurement ranges span from 1 - 10 GPM (3.8 - 38 L/min) up to 20 - 200 GPM (76 - 760 L/min). The meters feature an IP65 enclosure rating and are available with CE certification.

Configuration Options

The series offers a modular design supporting various housing materials, process connections, output signals, and display options to accommodate specific installation needs.

  • Housing Materials: 316 Stainless Steel (including High Pressure variants), Aluminum for non-volatile petroleum-based products, and PVDF (15% Carbon Fiber Filled) for aggressive chemicals.
  • Process Connections: NPT (Female), ISO (Female) BSPT (ISO 7 Designation is RC), 150# ANSI Flange (available on S10, S15 & S20 only), and Tri-Clamp Fitting (available on S05, S07, S10, S15 & S20 only).
  • Pressure Ratings: Stainless Steel 316 SS up to 1,500 psi (102 bar); High Pressure 316 SS up to 3000 psi (207 bar); Aluminum at 300 psi (21 bar); PVDF at 100 psi (6.9 bar). ANSI Flange and Sanitary Flange ratings are limited by fitting, clamp size, & temperature.
  • Output Signals: Pulse Out (Unscaled) Conditioned Signal Module w/Cable; 4-20 mA Module; Scaled Pulse with RS485 [Modbus or BACnet], BTU Calculator, and Bluetooth® options.
  • Wetted Materials: Stainless Steel models feature a PVDF rotor, Tungsten Carbide shaft, 96% Alumina Oxide Ceramic bearings, and 316 Stainless Steel rings. PVDF housing models utilize an optional PTFE ring option with Fluorocarbon rings.
  • Power: AAA Alkaline battery providing a life of 2 years.

Key Product Differences

The G2 Series is distinguished by housing material and size-specific capabilities. Stainless Steel models are available in sizes from ½" to 2", with High Pressure variants (H-series) offered for the same range. Aluminum models cover ½" through 2", while PVDF models are limited to ½" and 1" sizes.

Display options include a standard local display or the Q9 Hi-Temp Riser Kit, which adds 0.72 in. (18 mm) to height; this high-temperature option is available for Stainless Steel meters only up to 185° F/85° C. The series supports field calibration and factory calibration in gallons or litres.

Available accessories include the Conditioned Signal Module, Pulse Out External Power Scaled Pulse Module, 4-20 mA Module, 90° Display Adaptor Kit, FM Approved* Remote Kit (note: does not make Non-FM Approved meters FM Approved), Teflon O-Rings for PVDF Meters, and the Q9 Hi-Temp Riser Kit.

What mechanisim is being used to measure flow? is it electromagnetic? Thank you, Jen

Thank you for your inquiry about the flow meter. It has a turbine inside that spins to measure the flow rate and provide total volume.
