Supported Applications
The Omega DRC-8900 Series consists of DIN rail mount signal conditioners designed for process monitoring applications. These isolated transmitters convert various input signals—including thermocouples, RTDs, DC voltage, and DC current—into standardized output signals suitable for data acquisition systems.
- Thermocouple inputs: Type J (DRC-8920) and Type K (DRC-8921)
- RTD inputs: Pt RTD with 100Ω, 500Ω, or 1000Ω resistance
- Voltage/Current inputs: DC voltage ranges from 0 to 50 mV up to 0 to 100 V; DC current ranges from 4 to 20 mA and 0 to 50 mA
Operating Conditions & Performance
The series operates within an ambient temperature range of 0°C to +55°C (32°F to 131°F) with a storage temperature capability from -40°C to +85°C. All models provide three-way isolation rated at 700 VDC between power, input, and output circuits.
- Accuracy: ±0.1% of full scale for voltage/current inputs; ±2°C maximum linearization error for thermocouple models (excluding sensor error); ±0.7°C maximum for RTD models
- Response Time: 10 ms (10% to 90%) for voltage and current input models; 1.5 sec for thermocouple and RTD input models
- Power Supply: 22 to 26 Vdc unregulated, with consumption varying by model family from 15 mA to 40 mA
