Supported Applications

Dwyer Series MTF Multitube Flow Systems are customizable variable area flow meters designed for multichannel metering, mixing, or monitoring applications. The series supports configurations with up to six different flow tubes featuring various capacities and patterns. Documented media compatibility includes Air, Water, and Gases (specifically for Gas Proportioner Frames).

Operating Conditions & Performance

The Series MTF operates within an ambient temperature limit of 250°F (121°C) with a pressure rating of 200 psig (13.8 bar). Accuracy is specified as ±2% FS @ 70°F (21.1°C) and 14.7 psia (1 atm absolute), with repeatability at ±0.25% of scale reading.

Measurement ranges documented for the series include:

• Air: 0.07 mL/min to 42094 mL/min
• Water: 0.28 mL/min to 1261 mL/min
• Air (SCFM): 0.60 SCFM to 90.0 SCFM

Note that flow rates are given for standard pressure and temperature 70°F (21°C) @ 760 mm Hg.

Configuration Options

The series is configurable across frame sizes, wetted materials, tube types, and valve options to meet specific multichannel requirements.

Frames and Flow Patterns

• Frame Sizes: 65 mm or 150 mm frames are available. Dimensions vary by the number of tubes installed (ranging from 1 tube to 6 tubes).
• Patterns: Options include isolated parallel channels, common exhaust with parallel inlets, and common inlet with parallel exhausts.
• Gas Proportioner Frames: Series MTP frames are offered for gas applications (2 or 3 tube capacity).

Housing and Wetted Materials

• Housing Components: Anodized aluminum, 316 SS, Polycarbonate (Front Shield), Black anodized aluminum (Side Panels).
• Wetted Parts: Aluminum or 316 SS frames are available. Flow tubes utilize floats made of Borosilicate glass, Carboloy, or 316 SS.

Flow Tubes and Valves

• Tube Types: Direct Reading Flow Tubes (SCFM/SCFH scales) and Correlated Flow Tubes (mL/min for Air/Water).
• Valve Cartridges: Standard 6-turn valves or High Precision 16-turn valves are available as options. Valve selection is based on flow rate ranges in mL/min.

Key Product Differences

The Series MTF distinguishes between frame sizes and wetted material compositions through specific model numbering:

• 65 mm Frames (MTF-16xx / MTF-26xx): Models with '1' in the series prefix denote Aluminum wetted parts, while '2' denotes 316 SS. The third digit indicates tube capacity (e.g., MTF-1641 is a 4-tube isolated frame).
• 150 mm Frames (MTF-11xx / MTF-21xx): Similar coding applies where '1' represents Aluminum and '2' represents 316 SS wetted parts.
• Gas Proportioner Frames (MTP-xxx): Models such as MTP-112, MTP-212, MTP-113, and MTP-213 are designated for gas proportioning with 2 or 3 tube capacities.
• Valve Options: Standard valves (FV series) cover flow rates from 0 to above 10000 mL/min. High Precision valves (FVH/VA8x series) are segmented for lower ranges starting at 0 to 200 mL/min.
