Supported Applications

The Omega ARMT-3 Heavy Duty series consists of immersion heaters designed for clean water applications. These units feature an integral thermostat and a dependable 3-element heater design, intended to function as temperature control devices within the specified operating ranges.

Operating Conditions & Performance

The ARMT-3 series operates with a process connection of 2.5 in NPT fitting and utilizes copper sheath elements with a diameter of 0.475 in (1 cm). The heaters are available across two distinct temperature ranges: T-2 Temp Range covers 60 to 250°F, while the T-1 Temp Range covers 0 to 100°F.

• Power ratings range from 3 kW to 18 kW depending on voltage and configuration
• Voltage options include 120, 208, 240, and 480 Vac for both 1-phase and 3-phase power (suffix "3P" indicates 3-phase)
• Overall length (Dim. B) varies by model from 7¾ in to 39¾ in (19 cm to 101 cm)

Configuration Options

The series offers configurable options for enclosure type, temperature range, and electrical supply. Standard models feature a General Purpose Enclosure rated NEMA 1. An alternative Type E2 moisture tight/explosion proof enclosure is also available.

• Process Connection: 2.5 in NPT fitting with a minimum hole size of 6.4 cm (2.5 in)
• Electrical Connections: Hole for 0.75 in (1.9) conduit; UL and CSA approvals apply to specific configurations

Key Product Differences

Variants within the ARMT-3 series are distinguished by power rating, voltage phase, temperature range suffixes (T1 vs. T2), and enclosure type.

• Temperature Range: Models with "T1" in the model number correspond to the 0 to 100°F range; standard models without this suffix typically cover the 60 to 250°F range
• Enclosure Type: Standard general purpose enclosures are available alongside E2 moisture tight/explosion proof options (indicated by "E2" in model numbers)
• Phase Configuration: Inserting the suffix "3P" designates a 3-phase power supply; models without this designation may be single phase

Note: The integral thermostat functions as temperature control only and is not a fail-safe device. An approved pressure and/or temperature control should be used with these heaters to assure safe operation. These units are not intended for use in hazardous locations unless specified by the E2 enclosure option, though specific UL/CSA listing status varies (not listed or certified for 1-phase exceeding 48 amps).
