Supported Applications

The Omega AVK Series provides feed-through terminal blocks and accessories designed for DIN rail mounting in electrical control panels. These screw connection style blocks feature vibration resistant wire clamps, allowing installation without pre-treatment of the wire, including stranded conductors. The series supports standard termination needs across a wide range of current capacities and includes specific grounding configurations.

Operating Conditions & Performance

The AVK terminal blocks are constructed with Polyamide 6.6 housing and offer electrical ratings that vary by model size, ranging from the AVK-2.5 to the AVK-70. Standard voltage/current ratings span from 750V/26 A for the AVK-2.5 up to 750V/192 A for the AVK-70. Specific compliance ratings are documented as follows:

• VDE (IEC 60947-7-1): Ratings range from 750V/24 A to 750V/125 A across applicable models.
• UL/CSA: Ratings are listed at 600V with current capacities from 20 A (AVK-2.5) to 175 A (AVK-70).
• ATEX: Voltage and current ratings vary by model, such as 630V/21 A for AVK-2.5 and 1000V/167 A for AVK-70.

The series accommodates wire sizes from AWG 26 to 2/0 depending on the block size, with insulation strip lengths specified between 10 mm and 20 mm. Grounding terminal blocks (AVK-T models) are available in three configurations: AVK-2.5/4T, AVK-6/10T, and AVK-16/35T.

Configuration Options

The series offers a comprehensive set of accessories to complete DIN rail installations:

• Cross Connectors: Available in 2, 3, 4, and 10-position configurations (e.g., OM-474122 through OM-474179) compatible with specific block widths.
• End Plates & Partitions: Models include AVK-EP-210 for blocks AVK-2.5 through AVK-10, and AVK-EP-16 for the AVK-16 model; end plates are included with larger standard sizes.
• DIN Rail End Bracket: Model T-BLK-EB is provided to secure rail ends.
• Marking Tags: Options include unprinted tags (MKR-NO-PRINT) and numbered sets ranging from 1–10 up to 201–250, supplied in cards of 50 per card. A specific MKR-GROUND tag is also available.

Housing colors are configurable beyond the standard grey by adding suffixes: -R (red), -B (blue), -Y (yellow), -G (green), or -BE (beige).

Key Product Differences

The AVK series is differentiated primarily by current capacity and physical width, which dictate the compatible wire gauge range. Standard blocks follow a naming convention of AVK-, while grounding variants use the suffix /T (e.g., AVK-6/10T). The electrical ratings differ significantly between standard feed-through models and grounding terminal blocks; for instance, the AVK-2.5 supports 750V/26 A whereas the corresponding grounding block AVK-2.5/4T is rated for AWG 26–10 with a width of 6 mm.

Accessories are model-specific based on these dimensions; cross-connectors and end plates must match the specific series size (e.g., OM-47412x accessories correspond to AVK-2.5 blocks, while OM-47417x corresponds to AVK-35). The series holds CE, UL, cUL, VDE, Ex, and RoHS approvals.
