Supported Applications
The Omega DPG1000 series comprises digital pressure gauges designed for monitoring gauge, absolute, vacuum, and compound vacuum/pressure applications. The series includes the DPG1000ADA models with dual alarms and the DPG1000DAR models which add a 4-20 mA retransmission output. These instruments are factory calibrated using equipment traceable to NIST and feature multi-level pass code protection, zero tare functionality, and programmable alarm setpoints.
Wetted parts consist of 316L stainless steel, making the gauges compatible with media suitable for this material; however, they are explicitly not rated for oxygen service. For contaminated media, an appropriate screen or filter is required upstream of the gauge port.
Operating Conditions & Performance
The series offers measurement ranges from -30.0 inHg to 100.0 psig (compound) up to 5000 psig, with specific models available for vacuum (-30.0 InHg Vac), absolute pressure (up to 100.0 psia), and gauge pressure configurations. Accuracy is specified as ±0.25% of full scale ±1 least significant digit, inclusive of linearity, hysteresis, and repeatability.
Operating temperature ranges from -4 to 185°F (-20 to 85°C), with compensated performance between 32 to 158°F (0 to 70°C). Storage temperatures are rated for -40 to 203°F (-40 to 95°C). The display updates at a nominal rate of 4 readings per second, while alarm relays respond in approximately 120 milliseconds. For DPG1000DAR models, the analog output is updated approximately 16 times per second with a resolution of 6,553 counts (2.4 µA) over the sensor range.
Overpressure ratings vary by sensor: ranges from 3 psi to 2000 psi support 2 X pressure range; sensors using 3000 psig and 5000 psig ranges support 5000 psig and 7500 psig overpressures, respectively. Burst pressure is rated at 4 X sensor pressure rating or 10,000 psi, whichever is less.
Configuration Options
The series supports two primary configurations distinguished by output capability and power requirements:
- DPG1000ADA (Dual Alarms): AC/DC powered with dual form C (SPDT) relay contacts. Power supply accepts 8 to 24 VAC 50/60 Hz or 9 to 32 VDC.
- DPG1000DAR (Dual Alarms + Output): DC powered with dual form C relays and a 4-20 mA DC current retransmission output. Power supply accepts 9 to 32 VDC only; the negative power lead is common with the analog output ground.
Housing options include an extruded aluminum case with epoxy powder coating and an ABS/polycarbonate bezel (aluminum bezel optional). A NEMA 4X version featuring a 3.5 in bezel diameter is available for outdoor or wash-down applications, while the standard bezel measures 3.38 in.
Process connections utilize a 1/4 in NPT male fitting made of 316L stainless steel. Optional pressure snubbers are listed as PS-4G (Gas), PS-4E (Lt Oil), and PS-4D (Dense Lq). Electrical connections include factory-installed cables: ADA models feature a 2-conductor power cable and a 6-conductor relay cable; DAR models add a shielded 4-conductor output/power cable.
Alarm configurations are programmable for HI/LO, HI/HI, or LO/LO modes with normal or reverse acting logic. Users may select between fixed 1% deadband or adjustable trip/reset points. Default alarm settings can be specified via suffix codes (-1N through -3R) during ordering.
Key Product Differences
The primary distinction within the series is the presence of the analog output on DPG1000DAR models, which necessitates DC power only and provides a 4-20 mA signal with compliance determined by the supply voltage. The DPG1000ADA supports both AC and DC input but lacks the retransmission loop.
Model numbers encode specific measurement ranges (e.g., -30V100 for compound, -15A for absolute) and alarm configurations. While standard variants cover common psi ranges from 0-15 psig to 0-5000 psig, the series supports special engineering units upon request. The DPG1000ADA is compatible with an optional wall-mount power supply kit (DPG1000-PS) for operation on 115 VAC.
