Supported Applications

The Dwyer Series PCHP Pneumatic Calibration Hand Pump sources pressure and vacuum to check the calibration of gages, switches, transmitters, and recorders. Designed for leak-free operation, the pump utilizes dual o-rings on all pistons to ensure zero leakage throughout its output range.

Operating Conditions & Performance

The Series PCHP operates with air and compatible gases only; it is not intended for liquids or other media. The device covers an output range of -28" Hg to 600 psi (-0.945 to 40 bar). Key performance constraints include a maximum pump design pressure of 600 psig, with warnings that connection to a pressure source greater than this limit could cause serious injury.

Construction materials for the wetted path consist of stainless steel fittings and nitrile o-rings. The housing is anodized aluminum, complemented by plastic/rubber handles featuring contoured cushions to prevent sliding during operation.

Configuration Options

The series offers specific configurations including a standard pump model and options for hose kits. Connection interfaces are provided via 1/4" NPT/BSP process connections and 1/8" NPT/BSP gauge connections. For users requiring BSP ports, the documentation notes that an adapter is required to connect NPT fittings.

The pump incorporates a Schrader valve rather than a needle valve, requiring several turns from the end of travel to achieve full open or closed positions.

Key Product Differences

Dwyer documents two primary model configurations within the Series PCHP:

• PCHP-1: Pneumatic calibration hand pump (standard configuration).
• PCHP-1K: Pneumatic calibration hand pump with hose kit.

An accessory, the PCHP-HK High pressure hose, is available separately. The series includes a note that NPT to BSP Parallel Thread Adapters are required for connecting NPT fittings when using 1/8" and 1/4" BSP ports; these adapters feature a bonded washer attached to the male end.
