Supported Applications

The ACI LE Series control transformers are designed to provide a stable, clean, and reliable power source for 24-volt AC control systems. Documented applications include Air Conditioning Circuits, Thermostats, Gas Valves, Relays, and other equipment that does not exceed the listed ratings. These units can replace existing transformers with matching primary input voltages and equal or smaller VA ratings.

Operating Conditions & Performance

The series operates within an ambient temperature range of 14°F to 104°F (-10°C to 40°C) and a humidity range of 45 to 85%, Non-Condensing. Input voltage ranges from 24 VAC to 480 VAC, with output voltages available at 24 or 120 VAC depending on the model configuration. The transformers support VA output ratings between 20 and 150 VA and operate at a frequency of 50/60 Hz.

Protection features include Manual Reset Circuit Breakers or Thermal Cutouts, as specified in the ordering grid for individual models. Electrical connections utilize UL 1015 Insulated 18AWG Lead Wires that are 8" long with 0.375" ends stripped and tinned.

Configuration Options

The LE Series offers a configurable envelope across mounting styles, voltage inputs, VA ratings, and safety approvals to meet specific installation needs:

  • Mounting Configurations: Available with Slotted Foot Mounts or ½" Threaded Flange Hub(s). Specific models support combinations such as "1TF / 1SO" (one threaded flange hub, one socket outlet).
  • Voltage Inputs & Outputs: Single and multiple primary input transformers are available. Primary voltages include configurations for 24V, 120V, 208V, 240V, 277V, 440V, and 480V AC inputs.
  • VA Ratings: Output ranges span from 20 VA to 150 VA across the series variants.
  • Safety & Approvals: Models carry UL 1585 / UL 5085-1 / UL 5085-3 Listed for USA & Canada, Class 2 and Class 3 Transformer designations. Some models are UL Recognized or UL Listed.
  • Insulation System: The series incorporates a Class F, 150 insulation system (UL 1446 Recognized Component Class B Insulation System PG125 at 130C/266F).

Key Product Differences

Variants within the LE Series differ by model number, primary voltage configuration, VA rating, and hub style. For example:

  • Single vs. Multi-Voltage Inputs: Models such as LE105 feature a single 24VAC input, while models like LE1501 support multiple inputs (120/208/240/480 VAC).
  • Overload Protection Type: Some variants include a Manual Reset Circuit Breaker pushbutton (e.g., LE11711, LE118), while others utilize Thermal Cutout protection.
  • Housing & Mounting Styles: Variations exist between 1TF (one threaded flange) and 2TF (two threaded flanges) configurations. Model LE1501 is distinct for its "1TF / 1SO" hub style combination.
