Supported Applications
The ACI RTD Platinum Freezer Series pairs a 4.76 mm (0.1875 in) nominal diameter 316 stainless steel probe with a 50.8 mm (2 in) probe and Plenum rated jacketed Teflon cable. Each sensor is manufactured with ACI's proven encapsulation process to eliminate the effects of moisture, making it well suited to low-temperature and building-management service. The Freezer sensors can be used with any of the Single or Triple Point Glycol Kits.

The series is CE, UKCA, WEEE and RoHS3 compliant and is covered by ACI's Five (5) Year Limited Warranty. The enclosure must be mounted outside of the freezer/cooler.
Operating Conditions & Performance
The sensors measure across a range of -198 °C to 150 °C. Accuracy is Class B, defined as ± 0.30 °C + (0.005 x |t|) where t is the Absolute Value of temperature in °C above or below 0 °C. Representative accuracy figures are ±1.30 °C (±2.34 °F) at -200°C (-328°F) and ±0.30 °C at 0 °C.
- Element: A/100-LTS is 100 Ω nominal; A/1K-LTS is 1000 Ω nominal.
- Response time: A/100-LTS is 19 seconds in water; A/1K-LTS is 22 seconds in water.
- Ambient temperature: -40 °C to 100 °C (GD enclosure); -40 °C to 70 °C (4X enclosure).
- Storage temperature: -40 °C to 80 °C.
- Humidity: 10 % to 100 % RH.
Wiring is Three Conductors (White and Two Red Wires) and is polarity sensitive; the two red wires are tied together. The cable gland fitting is a 15 mm (0.591 in) PG7 size. Wetted parts are 316 Stainless Steel, Silver Plated Copper and FEP/FEP (Teflon).
Configuration Options
Models differ by RTD element value, enclosure, lead length and calibration certification, which lets the sensor be matched to the controller input and installation environment.
- Element: 100 = 100 Ω Platinum RTD or 1K = 1 kΩ Platinum RTD.
- Enclosure: no enclosure, GD = Galvanized Steel enclosure rated NEMA 1 (IP10), or 4X = Polystyrene UL94-V2 enclosure rated NEMA 4X (IP 66).
- Lead length: 10' = 3.05 m (10 ft) leads or 30' = 9.15 m (30 ft) leads.
- NIST: no certificate, or NIST Certificate (3 Points).
Enclosure choice also drives weight, ranging from 0.073 kg for a bare A/xx-LTS-10' up to 0.413 kg for an A/xx-LTS-GD-30' with galvanized enclosure and 30 ft leads.
Key Product Differences
Model numbers follow the pattern A/ <model series> - LTS - <enclosure> - <lead length> - <NIST>, for example A/1K-LTS-GD-30' or A/1K-LTS-4X-30'. Standard configurations include:
- A/100-LTS-10' — 100 Ω RTD, 50.8 mm (2 in) Probe, 3.05 m (10 ft) Leads.
- A/100-LTS-GD-10' — 100 Ω RTD with Galvanized Enclosure.
- A/100-LTS-4X-10' — 100 Ω RTD with NEMA 4X Enclosure.
- A/1K-LTS-10' — 1 kΩ RTD, 3.05 m (10 ft) Leads.
- A/1K-LTS-30' — 1 kΩ RTD, 9.15 m (30 ft) Leads.
- A/1K-LTS-4X-30' — 1 kΩ RTD, 9.15 m (30 ft) Leads, NEMA 4X Enclosure.
Thermal Buffer accessories are offered in 67 ml (2 oz) and 250 ml (8.5 oz) Nalgene Bottle versions with glass beads or food grade glycol, along with Single or Triple Point Glycol Kits.
