Supported Applications

The Omega IF-IOL Series IO-Link Converters serve as compact analog-to-digital interface devices, connecting current or voltage sources to an IO-Link master. These converters enable communication with industrial sensors by translating analog signals into digital process data for transmission over the IO-Link protocol.

  • Connects directly to a sensor or in-line within existing cabling runs.
  • Serves as an interface between 4 mA to 20 mA current sources and IO-Link masters (IF-IOL-001).
  • Serves as an interface between 0 V to 10 V voltage sources and IO-Link masters (IF-IOL-002).

Operating Conditions & Performance

The series operates within a specified ambient temperature range of -40 °C to +70 °C (-40 °F to +158 °F) and supports storage temperatures from -40 °C to +80 °C (-40 °F to +176 °F). The device is rated for 90 % at +70 °C maximum relative humidity (non-condensing).

  • Power Supply: 18 Vdc to 30 Vdc at 50 mA maximum.
  • Accuracy: 0.5 %.
  • Resolution: IF-IOL-001 provides 14-bits; IF-IOL-002 provides 13-bits.
  • Mechanical Ratings: Meets IEC 60068-2-27 requirements (Shock: 15 G, 11 ms duration, half sine wave) and IEC 60068-2-6 requirements (Vibration: 10 Hz to 55 Hz, 0.5 mm amplitude, 5 minutes sweep, 30 minutes dwell).

Configuration Options

The IF-IOL Series is available in two primary configurations based on the input signal type:

  • IF-IOL-001: Compact analog current to IO-Link device converter for 4 mA to 20 mA inputs.
  • IF-IOL-002: Compact analog voltage to IO-Link device converter for 0 V to 10 V inputs.

The rugged over-molded design features an enclosure rating of IP65, IP67, and IP68; NEMA/UL Type 1. Electrical connections utilize integral male/female 4-pin M12/Euro-style quick disconnects (M12 X 1 - 6g male, M12 X 1 - 6H female). The housing materials consist of nickel-plated brass for the coupling and PVC translucent black for the connector body.

Communication Parameters

  • IO-Link Revision: V1.1.
  • Port Class: A.
  • Bit Rate: 38400 bps.
  • Minimum Cycle Time: 3.6 ms.
  • SIO Mode, Smart Sensor Profile, Block Parameterization, and Data Storage are supported.

Key Product Differences

The primary distinction between the two models is the input measurement type:

  • IF-IOL-001 (Current Model): Accepts 4 mA to 20 mA. Default values are SP1: 0.004 A and SP2: 0.02 A.
  • IF-IOL-002 (Voltage Model): Accepts 0 V to 10 V. Default values are SP1: 0 V and SP2: 10 V.

Both models share identical physical dimensions of 57.8 mm [2.27 in] length, 27.9 mm [1.1 in] width, and 15.0 mm [0.59 in] height. Overcurrent protection is required per the supplied table based on supply wiring AWG (e.g., 5.0 A for 20 AWG; 3.0 A for 22 AWG). A shielded cable is required on the female sensor side, with the shield tied to the blue wire.
