Supported Applications
The Omega OM-CP-VoltX Series consists of battery-powered DC voltage data loggers designed for remote monitoring or multiple points in a central location. These devices support simultaneous logging across all channels, with the ability to download and analyze data after the monitoring cycle is complete.
While native measurements are recorded as V, mV, or μV, engineering units can be scaled via software to display measurement units of another type. This capability supports applications involving current outputs from sensors such as temperature, CO2, flow rate, and more.
Operating Conditions & Performance
The series operates within an ambient environment of -20 °C to +60 °C (-4 °F to +140 °F) at 0 %RH to 95 %RH non-condensing. Measurement performance varies by voltage range model:
- ±160 mV Range: Resolution of 0.02 mV with calibrated accuracy of ±0.032 mV.
- ±3.2 V Range: Resolution of 0.0004 mV with calibrated accuracy of ±0.0032 V.
- -8 V to +32 V Range: Resolution of 0.004 mV with calibrated accuracy of ±0.02 V.
All models feature an analog conversion time (response) of 150 ms and a temperature coefficient of 25 ppm/°C. The specified accuracy range is the nominal range at 25 °C. Input impedance varies by model: 1 MΩ for the ±160 mV range, and 125 kΩ for both the ±3.2 V and -8 V to +32 V ranges.
Configuration Options
The series is available in four channel configurations: 4-channel (QUADVOLT), 8-channel (OCTVOLT), 12-channel (X12VOLT), and 16-channel (X16VOLT). Each configuration supports the three voltage ranges listed above.
Memory & Logging
Total memory capacity per channel depends on the number of enabled channels:
- 4-Channel: 698,709 readings per channel.
- 8-Channel: 349,354 readings per channel.
- 12-Channel: 232,903 readings per channel.
- 16-Channel: 174,677 readings per channel.
The reading rate is configurable from 4 Hz up to 1 reading every 24 hours. Start modes include software-programmable immediate start or delay start up to 6 months in advance. Each unit includes a real-time clock with ±1 minute/month accuracy and automatically records the calibration date.
Power & Connectivity
The loggers are powered by an included, user-replaceable 9 V lithium battery (OM-CP-BAT103) or external power via a universal wall-mounted adapter. Typical battery life is 18 months. Data transfer occurs via the included USB-A to micro USB cable at 460,800 baud.
Physical Construction
Housing material is black anodized aluminum with removable screw terminals for input connections. Dimensions and weight scale with channel count:
- 4 & 8-Channel: 2.70 in x 7.25 in x 1.22 in (65.6 mm x 184.2 mm x 31.0 mm); Weight: 13 oz (368 g).
- 12-Channel: 2.70 in x 7.25 in x 1.68 in (65.6 mm x 184.2 mm x 42.7 mm); Weight: 20 oz (580 g).
- 16-Channel: 2.70 in x 7.25 in x 2.14 in (65.6 mm x 184.2 mm x 54.4 mm); Weight: 28 oz (800 g).
Key Product Differences
Variants are distinguished by channel count and voltage range, reflected in the model number structure OM-CP-<CHANNEL>-<VOLTAGE_RANGE>-A2. For example, OM-CP-QUADVOLT-160MV-A2 denotes a 4-channel unit with a ±160 mV range.
The series includes CE and ROHS approvals. A NIST traceable calibration certificate is included with each device. Software compatibility requires Standard Software version 4.2.19.0 or later, or Secure Software version 4.2.18.0 or later on Windows XP SP3/7/8/10 systems.
