Supported Applications

The OM-CP-QUADTCTEMP2000-A2 and OM-CP-OCTTCTEMP2000-A2 are four and eight channel thermocouple data loggers with an LCD screen. The integrated display, with on-screen minimum, maximum and average statistics, makes the series well suited to applications where readings must be checked at the point of measurement without connecting to a computer.

Because the devices accept J, K, T, E, R, S, B and N type thermocouples across a wide temperature span, they support multi-point temperature monitoring and thermal recording in industrial and laboratory settings. A user configurable screen that allows any combination of channels to be displayed makes them convenient for field checks and walk-up verification.

  • Multi-point thermocouple temperature monitoring
  • Point-of-measurement readings via the on-board LCD
  • Industrial and laboratory thermal recording
  • Field verification of live and statistical values

Operating Conditions & Performance

The internal channels measure over a temperature range of -20 °C to +60 °C (-4 °F to +140 °F) with a resolution of 0.01 °C (0.018 °F). Calibrated accuracy is ±0.5 °C (0 °C to 50 °C) and ±0.9 °F (32 °F to 131 °F). The loggers operate in an environment of -20 °C to +60 °C (-4 °F to +140 °F) and 0 %RH to 95 %RH non-condensing.

Remote thermocouple channels use a female subminiature (SMP) connection and accept a maximum thermocouple resistance of 1000 Ω, <100 Ω recommended, with automatic cold junction compensation based on the internal channel. Accuracy is ±0.5 °C for the J, K, T, E and N types and ±2.0 °C for the R, S and B types.

The reading rate ranges from 4 Hz up to 1 reading every 24 hours. Memory capacity with all channels enabled is 524,032 readings per channel on the 4-channel model and 262,016 readings per channel on the 8-channel model. Data is date and time stamped in °C, °F, K, °R, mV, V, and time accuracy is ±1 minute/month.

Each unit uses a 9 V lithium battery (included and user replaceable) rated for 18 months with the display off and 3 months with continuous display use. Connection is through a USB-A to micro USB cable (included) at 460,800 baud, with software programmable immediate start or delay start up to 6 months in advance and digital calibration through software. The series carries CE approval.

Configuration Options

The two members of the series differ in channel count, physical size, and memory depth while sharing the same measurement performance and LCD feature set. The 4-channel OM-CP-QUADTCTEMP2000-A2 measures 7.25 in x 2.70 in x 1.22 in (184.15mm x 65.58 mm x 30.99 mm) and weighs 15.3 oz (435 g), storing 524,032 readings per channel. The 8-channel OM-CP-OCTTCTEMP2000-A2 measures 7.25 in x 2.70 in x 1.68 in (184.15mm x 65.58 mm x 42.672 mm) and weighs 20.1 oz (569 g), storing 262,016 readings per channel.

Both models accept the same thermocouple types. Type J covers -210 to +760 °C, type K covers -270 to +1370 °C, type T covers -270 to +400 °C, type E covers -270 to +980 °C, type N covers -270 to +1300 °C, type R covers -50 to +1760 °C, type S covers -50 to +1760 °C, and type B covers +50 to +1820 °C.

Both variants provide the on-screen minimum, maximum and average statistics, the user configurable screen that displays any combination of channels, automatic cold junction compensation, and real time recording with a PC. The OM-CP-BAT103 replacement battery allows user servicing on either model.

Upon initializing the device the display has locked up and cannot access it. None of the buttons work and software will not reset the device display. I am unable to reset anything with the device and cannot calibrate the display.
