Supported Applications
The Dwyer Series TSW Weatherproof Digital Temperature Switch combines the TS family of temperature controls with a weatherproof enclosure designed for installation flexibility. The unit features multiple conduit knockouts to allow installers to determine the optimal location for conduit entry and includes fast tabs that enable quick jumpering of line voltage to the common of the output relay.
Standard security measures include a parameter lock physical jumper and software passcode protection to prevent tampering by unauthorized users. The bright LED display provides visibility of current output status and temperature measurement in environments where these features are required.
Operating Conditions & Performance
The Series TSW operates within an ambient temperature range of 32 to 104°F (0 to 40°C). Measurement capabilities depend on the selected sensor input type:
- PTC Input: -58 to 302°F (-50 to 150°C)
- NTC Input: -58 to 230°F (-50 to 110°C)
The device provides an accuracy of ±1% FS. Resolution varies by configuration: single-stage models offer 1° resolution, while dual-stage models provide 0.1° for readings below 100 and 1° for readings ≥ 100°. The enclosure is rated NEMA 4X (IP66), and the unit weighs 1.2 lbs (544 g). Power consumption is specified at 3.6 VA.
Configuration Options
The series supports configurable power supplies, relay outputs, and sensor inputs to accommodate specific control needs:
- Power Supply Options: Models are available for 90-255 VAC or 12-24 VAC/VDC (±10%) depending on the model.
- Relay Outputs:
- R1 SPDT Relay: Resistive load up to 20 A @ 240 VAC; Inductive load up to 3 A @ 240 VAC. Horsepower rating is R1 2HP @ 240 VAC.
- R2 SPDT Relay (Dual Stage): Resistive load up to 8 A @ 240 VAC; Inductive load up to 3 A @ 240 VAC.
- Input Types: Supports PTC (1000 Ω @ 25°C) or NTC (10 kΩ @ 25°C).
- Housing & Connections: Features multiple conduit knockouts and fast tabs for line voltage jumpering.
The series includes non-volatile memory backup. Agency approvals include CE, UL, cUL, and cURus depending on the specific model documentation.
Key Product Differences
Variants within the Series TSW are distinguished by stage count (single or dual), power supply voltage range, and inclusion of a temperature probe:
- Single Stage Models: Includes models such as TSW-150 (90-255 VAC) and TSW-160 (12-24 VAC/VDC).
- Dual Stage Models: Includes models such as TSW-250 (90-255 VAC) and TSW-260 (12-24 VAC/VDC), offering two set points with independent differentials.
- No Probe Variants (-NP): Models ending in "-NP" (e.g., TSW-150-NP, TSW-260-NP) are supplied without a temperature probe included. Standard models include the TS-8T temperature probe.
The series supports optional accessories including Temperature Sensor Clips available in grey (CC1-GY) and neutral (CC1-N). The device is not field serviceable; units requiring repair or recalibration must be returned to the factory. If probe cable length exceeds 100 meters, a recalibration adjustment via parameter P1 is required.
