Supported Applications
The Omega FL3200 and FL3500 series are precision variable area flow meters designed for the measurement of air, water, and gases. These panel-mounted instruments feature borosilicate glass metering tubes with a white opaque rear shield to enhance readability in pressurized systems.
Operating Conditions & Performance
The series supports maximum process temperatures up to 250°F (180°F for water) and operates at pressure ratings of 200 psig. Measurement ranges span from 0.07 to 58,500 cc/min for air and 0.07 to 1866.0 cc/min for water, with a minimum flow rate defined as 10% of the maximum. Accuracy is specified at ±2% FS for standard models and ±5% FS on specific units marked in documentation; repeatability is listed at ±¼% FS.
Wetted Materials
- Flow Tube: Borosilicate glass
- End Fittings: Anodized aluminum or 316 SS
- Valve Orifice (Aluminum models): Polyacetal; (316 SS models): PCTFE
- O-Rings (Aluminum models): Buna; (316 SS models): FKM
- Packings: FKM
- Float Stops: PTFE
Configuration Options
The series is available in 65 mm and 150 mm sizes with standard industrial dimensions. Models feature horizontal process connections of ½ FNPT. Configuration options include frame material, float type, valve presence, and optional high-resolution controls.
Frame Materials
- Anodized aluminum (FL-32xx series)
- 316 SS (FL-33xx/FL-35xx series)
Float Types and Suffixes
Suffix codes denote the float material:
- G: Glass float
- ST: 316 SS float
- C: Carboly float
- SA: Sapphire float (available on select models)
Valve and Control Options
- No Valve: Add suffix "-NV" to the model number.
- High-Resolution Valve: A 15-turn, non-rising stem needle valve is available for 150 mm models by adding the suffix "-HRV" (noted as a 16 turn option in some documentation contexts).
Certification Options
NIST traceable certificates are available. Add suffix "-NISTAIR" for air calibration or "-NISTWATER" for water calibration.
Key Product Differences
The series distinguishes between 65 mm and 150 mm flow tube sizes, which dictate the maximum flow capacity and available valve options. The FL32xx models utilize anodized aluminum frames with Buna O-rings and Polyacetal orifices, while FL33xx/FL-34xx/FL-35xx models employ 316 SS frames with FKM seals and PCTFE/Polyacetal components depending on the specific configuration. Model numbers follow a structure of Model No. - <Frame Material> - <Float Type> - <Valve Option>. Specific flow rates vary by model number and are effective for purchases after January 1, 2013. Units include correlation tables on the back of the instruction sheet.

A very reliable and robust product
I have been using this for a month now. . .and I find it to be quite repeatable and robust. It is important to keep the upstream pressure stable, but once you have that the readings are very solid. Worth the money.

I'm specifically looking at the 65mm rotameter p/n: FL-3296ST. On the data sheet, the drawing shows 114 mm between panel holes, but under "Panel Mounting Design" section it states 131mm. Which is it?
Thanks for your question. 131 mm is correct.

I need the correlation table. Where can I find as the original instructions are lost.
Thank you for your inquiry! Please email us at flow@omega.com so that we can provide you with the correct table for your model number.
