Product Overview
  • Series ID Series-WE07

Supported Applications

The Dwyer Series WE07 is a 2-piece flanged stainless steel V-port ball valve designed for gas or liquid flow control. The series incorporates a V-port ball design to achieve high flow rates with minimal pressure drop and provides bubble-tight shut-off capable of withstanding high pressure drops. Actuators are direct mounted, creating a compact assembly suitable for tight spaces.

Documented service compatibility includes:

  • Liquids
  • Gases

Operating Conditions & Performance

The Series WE07 valve body and wetted components are rated for process temperatures from -20 to 392°F (-29 to 200°C) with pressure limits ranging from 20" Hg to 275 psi (-0.7 to 19 bar). Line sizes span 1/2 to 3", utilizing 150# ANSI flange end connections.

Actuator operating conditions vary by type:

  • Pneumatic (DA and SR Series): Temperature limits of -40 to 176°F (-40 to 80°C). Normal supply pressure is 40 to 115 psi (2.7 to 7.9 bar) for double acting models and 80 psi (5.5 bar) for spring return, with a maximum supply pressure of 120 psi (8.6 bar).
  • Electric NEMA 4X (TD/MD Series): Temperature limits of -22 to 140°F (-30 to 60°C). Power requirements include 110 VAC, 220 VAC, 24 VAC, or 24 VDC. Modulating models accept a 4-20 mA input.
  • Electric Explosion-Proof (TI/MI Series): Temperature limits of -40 to 140°F (-40 to 60°C). Designed for hazardous locations: Class I, Group C & D; Class II, Group E, F & G; Division I & II.

Configuration Options

The series supports multiple actuation methods and configuration options:

  • Pneumatic Actuators: Available as double acting (DA) or spring return (SR). DA models use air supply to drive the valve open and closed via two ports. SR models use air to open with internally loaded springs returning the valve to a closed position.
  • Electric Actuators: Offered in weatherproof NEMA 4X (IP67) or explosion-proof NEMA 7 enclosures. Two-position actuators drive the valve open or close using supply voltage, while modulating actuators accept a 4-20 mA input for positioning.
  • Housing Materials: Pneumatic housings feature anodized aluminum bodies with epoxy coated end caps; electric housings use powder coated aluminum.
  • Wetted Materials: Body and ball: 316 SS (CF8M); Stem: 316 SS; Seat: RTFE/PTFE; Seal, Washer, and Packing: PTFE. O-rings are Fluoroelastomer.
  • Accessories & Options: Limit switches can be mounted directly to the valve for remote position indication. Available accessories include R2-2120 Air regulator, AFR4 Air filter regulator (0 to 120 psi), and VB-01 Volume booster. Solenoid valves are available to electrically switch air supply pressure.

Electric Actuator Cycle Times (per 90°)

  • TD/MD Series: TD01: 4 s; MD01: 10 s; TD02 and MD02: 20 s; TD03 and MD03: 30 s.

Key Product Differences

The Series WE07 distinguishes between actuator families based on enclosure rating, control method, and hazardous location suitability:

  • Pneumatic DA vs. SR: The "DA" series is double acting (rack and pinion), while the "SR" series is spring return.
  • NEMA 4X Electric (TD/MD): TD models are two-position; MD models are modulating with a 4-20 mA input. Standard features include manual override, position indicator, and two limit switches on TD models.
  • Explosion-Proof Electric (TI/MI): TI models are two-position; MI models are modulating. These feature NEMA 7 enclosures designed for hazardous locations Class I, Group C & D; Class II, Group E, F & G; Division I & II.
  • V-Ball Angles: The series offers 60° and 90° balls providing an equal percentage flow characteristic. Specific Cv values vary by size and angle (e.g., a 1/2" valve has a Cv of 7.9 at 60° and 9.1 at 90°).
