Supported Applications

The Omega HHUV254SD is a handheld UVA and UVC light meter designed for measuring light intensity in the UVA (365 nm) and UVC (254 nm) bands. The series supports industrial applications including welding, UV sterilization, photochemical matching, EEPROM erasure, graphic arts, photore sist exposure, and curing of inks, adhesives, and coatings.

When mated with a Type K or Type J thermocouple via the dedicated socket (callout 1-8), the meter also measures surface temperature. The device is not designed for use in human applications.

Operating Conditions & Performance

The HHUV254SD operates within an ambient temperature range of 0 to 50°C (32 to 122°F) and a relative humidity of 0 to 85% RH. The meter features automatic switching between two full-scale ranges: 2 mW/cm² and 20 mW/cm², covering wavelengths from 240 to 390 nm.

Performance specifications include:

Note: The family manual lists a response time of 0.5 seconds and an accuracy of ±5% of reading, while the series-specific data sheet specifies light measurement accuracy as ±4% of full scale reading + 2 digits without listing a specific response time value.

Configuration Options

The HHUV254SD is configured with integrated UVA and UVC probes. The meter supports real-time automatic datalogging to SD memory cards ranging from 1 GB to 16 GB, including a supplied 2 GB card. It features an RS232 output jack for data acquisition software connectivity.

Power options include six AA alkaline batteries or an optional 9 Vdc AC adaptor. The meter includes settable parameters such as date, time, auto power off, beep sound, temperature unit (°C or °F), sampling time, thermocouple Type (K or J), and decimal point/comma selection.

I need help with exporting the data from this device in real time using the data out function. Can you assist

Data stored on the SD card can be transferred via a card reader or serial communication cable but there is no capability of viewing live measurements through the RS232 connection on a computer.

Is there a NIST certificate of calibration for this unit? If not, what certification is available?

When this unit ships, it is sent with a 'certificate of conformance' which ensures that the unit has been made to published specifications. We do not provide NIST certification for this unit because of its light functions. However, you can send to an outside lab for certification if you like; again, we do guarantee all specs associated with this device.
